I know what you mean, but keep in mind Nintendo really needs the next Zelda game to sell in large numbers. And from the level of sales each game has gotten (with Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess selling best and the DS titles selling worst), it seems plausible they'll go for a more realistic art style just to stir up hype and get the game flying off shelves.
And given that it's likely to be unveiled alongside the PS4 and Xbox 720, Nintendo really needs a game that captures everyone's interest and shows that the Wii U can handle games the same as their rival's next gen system can.
I suppose that's true. Well, as long as they don't make it gory or "mature" and ruin the feeling of it, then they can play around with its style as much as they want and I would still support it with open arms

what's wrong with a mature Zelda game? I'd say the best titles in the series are [pretty Mature woth Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask.

Also do you guys really think a new console Zelda is ready with EAD working on a port of Wind Waker and lttp2. I mean look at the delay between Twilight Princess and Skyward sword now factor in HD development costs and a new engine.
But it could still look like crap like Twilight Princess. I don't really care for "realistic omg" graphics. Keep in mind the most popular Zelda games were colorful, not dark and damp (TP >:[). What they showed as a tech demo would be fine imo

By "Mature" I mean M rated crap as in, gore, nudity, swearing, etc. I said that because the poster I replied to said they must make the game appeal to all gamers, and a lot of them are "Mature games" stooges, no offense to anyone >.<

But tech demo is a stylized version of Twilight Princess.

Kid Icarus multiplayer won't benefit Nintendo in any way. I say Mario Kart because there isn't much else Nintendo has up its sleeve. Pokemon is booked, a 3D Mario or Legend of Zelda won't do the trick and neither will its smaller franchises.
Mario Kart is its last card to play unless there's unannounced third party support or something even better.
3D Mario won't help and Mario Kart is the only hope Nintendo has this year? That doesn't seem realistic at all. Granted series such as Pikmin and Rayman are not exactly system sellers, but I doubt Mario Kart is the ONLY major selling title the big N has for the end of the year in regards to Wii U.

Still, more games, even if they aren't the best sellers, will lend a hand to system sales. For example, some people, while not many, will buy a Wii U when Pikmin 3 comes out. Then when something else, such as 3D Mario, comes out, another batch of people join the Wii U ranks. Each time is small in number, but they all add up. Then when the really big stuff comes out in a year or two, like Zelda and Smash, sales should jump. So basically right now it's just a little hop at a time before the steady stream.

Not every game needs to sell ten million plus (although Smash Bros did with Brawl and 3D Mario did with Mario 64 and maybe Galaxy, so saying only Mario Kart and Pokemon do is wrong already). People don't only buy a console for one or two games, they buy it for a game library. Maybe the likes of a new Zelda won't bring in 15 million new Wii U owners, but it might just be the tipping point that persuades about 5 or so million people who needed a second great game to consider the purchase.

Nintendo, as a company looking to profit, should not be looking at developing games where the console will sell in little bursts. It needs to have triple A blockbusters as soon as possible so it can distribute as many consoles as possible, increasing the install base and allowing a wider audience to dive into its popular, unique next generation system.

You're right, one game from each franchise selling ten million copies (proof please), automatically determines that each are system sellers. Even if Super Smash bros. U did increase the Wii U's sales by ten million, that's all its doing (which it won't). Nintendo needs to sell more consoles than thirteen million in order to make a profit.

Not only did you contradict your original point, but that's not the case here. Sure, people do need more than a handful of games to justify a purchase, but as I see it as of now, it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Okay Mr. Negative. Not to say that you don't have a point, which you certainly do, but you could look at the bright side for a change...

And like many others here, I'm agreeing they will show something of Smash Bros 4, but I highly doubt it will be much. E3 of 2014 will probably actually have the SSB4 stuff.

Well...no big E3 presentations for Nintendo, but instead several events and a very juicy Nintendo Direct. Iwata talks that people who visits them at E3 would be able to play the games.
Iwata along with the rest of the Nintendo reps will do a Nintendo Direct presentation at E3 that will stream live to every Wii U owner(and possibly 3DS), as well as on TV on whichever channel, and the internet like usual.
