I know this has probably been asked before,I've noticed all my Wii u and 3ds game have a green triangle on the spine I assumed it was just a cosmetic thing, however I recently got Wii party u and the triangle is a dark pink/purple which I found strange, when I asked a friend we had a look at his games and his bayonetta 2 has the same dark pink triangle,so is it just to show games bundled with other things in this case bayonetta1/Wii remote or is there a deeper meaning?I can't find info anyware
They are primarily used in Europe and they are for certain areas. Green is for UK, and that dark purple is probably Europe as a whole. That one's usually used in bundle-releases, and the box and manual are also in the mentioned languages (or were before).
Naturally, France, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia etc all have different colours in the spine. I think they have been around since NES days.
Blue is for Italy, yellow for Spain, pink is for France or UK I'm not sure but I have some of both countries but Wii games, I don't have a disc from Germany yet. ;p
I don't think they are country dependend, all of my games are bought in the Netherlands but different genres/games have different colours.
Dark Pink: Sing Party, Bayonetta 1+'2, Darksiders 2
Green: TTT2, Batman Arkham city, AC3, CoD: Ghosts
Light purple/greyish: batman Arkham Orogins
Orange: AC Black Flag, ZombiU, Rayman Legends, ME 3
Blue: Zelda WWHD, Sonic Lost World, Pikmin 3, MK8, DKC TF, HW
Everything can change, but I'm never changing who I am
