Still cannot decide which to get, Basic or Premium, in particular do I need 8gb or 32gb? Any helpful thoughts? Has anyone offered guidance? What will the space be used for, is it just used the same as Wii storage?
Well, I'm getting Premium/Deluxe because of all the extra stuff. Not the storage, I already have a 1tb HDD here at home, so I'm coverd.
I want the Deluxe Digital Promotion (2 years), the Gamepad and console stands, the Gamepad charging cradle and NintendoLand. So for me, the choice was pretty obvious
Like @19Robb92 said, it's the extras that sweeten the deluxe deal. I'm getting the ZombiU pack because of the Delixe Digital Promotion and the craddles. I don't want my gamepad lying around the house. You'll get nintendoland for the extra 50$ you pay, the craddles, the digital promotion and the console stands are FOR FREE O_o
I love my 3DS charging craddle, that's why I want the WiiU one so bad

Where are you purchasing a Wii U system from? I thought they were all sold out in North America and supplies are creeping on near shortages in Europe...

Only reasons I don't want the Basic are that A.)It doesn't come with a game and B.)It has low memory.I remember back in 2009 when I started to have a LOW amount of memory for some games I got on Christmas.Though,I may be able to get the basic, then get a game. But,then it will cost approx. $360,which is $10 more than the deluxe.

Auto logic points to the premo deluxe compadre unless you missed that boat and don't want to wait for the next shipment then the basic shall you be bestowed upon... I will pity that fool
to me it was more for the color i already had a white wii so i decided to give a black color console a try look sweet with the blue
but yeah then i found out about the extras it came with the console and that made it a must get for me so its up to you what you can afford and if you can find one too your kinda late on the train o.o

i stopped playing mario kart now and moved on to luigis mansion :P
For me, you all made the decision for me. I got a Basic. The low memory isn't a problem since I can upgrade it over the years. As for not having a game, I don't have enough Wii Remotes to justify getting NintendoLand just yet, so it doesn't matter as much. Stands and such are awesome, but I don't need 'em. The only thing I really want is the eShop Reward thing. I hope Nintendo allows you to buy those in a couple years...
Anyway, if you have the funds, DELUXE. If you don't have the funds, BASIC.
If you want a game instantly, DELUXE. If you'd rather get one you really want, BASIC.
If you want Black, DELUXE. If you want White, BASIC
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
It all depends. The memory should not be a problem as apparently you can shove a USB hard drive in there to expand the memory. Do you want a black or white one. Do you think you will take advantage of the Nintendo Network Discount code (you can't get this with basic pack or from eshop). How about the Charging cradle? Would you want to just leave your gamepad lying there while charging or sitting nicely on a cradle wile it charges?
Imo if you can get a premium if not then there is no shame in getting a basic model.
Am guessing your from the UK? If so there are a few places accepting pre orders for the Wii U in the UK but it seems each day another website stops taking pre orders. The ZombiU pack is the pack I am getting and that is that pack that seems to be selling out quick in the UK. Up to now Zavvi/The Hut and Sendit are out of stock of the ZombiU pack.
The cheapest place in the UK to get a Wii U are as followed:

You two summed it up quite nicely. I'll be looking out for the deluxe set, too bad I didn't order one. Hopefully I'll be able to get one by the end of the year, or at least early spring (before Rayman Legends).
I got a Basic because all of the Deluxes were already sold out, but since you can acess your account from any system, I'll upgrade to a Deluxe once I get the chance to.

I have to agree on this one. The storage is not the reason to pay the extra $50. I really do want Nintendo Land so I am basically getting it for a $10 discount. You couple that with the charging cradle and the discount for the next five years on downloads, and it s a no brainer to me.
For me I was just hoping they put out Wii U in Black. I hated that they actually went with a white console AGAIN. When I saw the black one I was relieved. It just looked so much classier. So it was hands down the color I was going to get Wii U in. Then I find out that for $50 you get Nintendoland game, 16GB more memory, and even more extras! I cant see why you'd want to save $50 for so much less with the basic bundle. But then again thats what Nintendo want you to do....buy the deluxe. Reality is that both consoles, basic and deluxe, are at least $50 overpriced. They would still make a fair profit if the basic were $249.99 and the deluxe were $299.99!
Or... if all you get is an extra 24gb, a party game, some bits of plastic and a pretty restrictive loyalty scheme...I cant see why you'd want to pay an extra $50
Unless you want black. But then again Nintendo wants you to do.....buy the deluxe to get it in Black
Wow, thanks guys and girls, fairly convincing case for Premium. Yes from UK so thanks for links etc... Wasn't aware of Nintendo network discount code...presume this is good?! I guess I was confused why Nintendo was even bothering with the Basic!
