Topic: Wii U & 3DS versions of Smash could release at seperate dates (IGN)

According to IGN (from an interview with Sakurai), apparently the two different versions of Smash Bros could release at seperate times.

Apparently, both versions seem to be at different points in their development, although Sakurai wouldn't divulge which one is further along.

Also important to note, is that the 3DS is having trouble handling characters that use more than one fighter (probably referencing Ice Climbers here).

What do you make of this news?

I imagine that the Wii U one is further ahead. They are using the same engine as Brawl on the Wii U so it requires less work.

I think it's nice. I'd get a bit overwhelmed if I bought both versions at the same time.

Do listen to IGN that much. Half of their articles are persuasive "what if" papers.

Oh really, because my bro wants the 3DS version so that he may play it all the time on his 3DS. I want the Wii U version, so I'll see what my parents think when those games release.

Here's hoping. Problem with it being a system seller is it's coming to 3DS as well. It will help push Consoles if it comes to Wii U first.

Anyways Sakurai did say they're having more issues with the 3DS version, so chances are the Wii U one will be out first. (which kinda a good thing, actually...Wii U needs more epic games like this. xD)
