I think they shouldn't even think about shutting down the online until they have stopped selling the products that use it for a period of time.

What Microsoft did with the first Xbox was reasonable. It shutdown a long time after they stopped selling anything to do with it.

I don't think Nintendo sells any Wiis currently, just the Wii Mini which doesn't have online

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I never brought a game based mainly on online gameplay, so if it was to happen, it will be like water on a duck's back. Beside you still have single player and local multiplayer, so no real lost.
