Have they announced how and when you will be able to transfer your data/games from the Wii to the Wii U? And, will it transfer everything, like how the 3DS transfer works?

Some of my favorite games:
Ghost Trick, StarFox 64, WarioLand: Shake It, Kid Icarus, The Legendary Starfy, Endless Ocean: Blue World, Zelda: Minish Cap, Pokemon Snap, Diamond Trust of London, Gyromite, Katamari Damacy, EarthBound, Mario Kart 7, and Sonic Generations(PS3).

They said day 1 transfer and better then DSi to 3DS because it'll transfer ALL saved data, but how...? The only thing we know is we will NEED to have a wii and a WiiU plugged in for it to work

I dunno how thorough it is, but it's confirmed

Honestly though it should be account-based. There should be no reason I cannot continue to play purchased VC/WiiWare games on my old Wii and WiiU.

Yes so you don't have multiple games, since it'll be like getting all those games for free, since with my iPad, my dad bought the games but we share accounts so it was like I got those for free (one reason I don't play them)

I don't see the problem here. It might as well be the equivalent of having multiple save files in a game.

So 6 saves for OOT (3 for each) mine as well just give us a buy one get one free, if instead of giving us (especially someone like me who only uses on anyway) 2 copies

It's more like sharing a single version of OOT with two people, not giving another person a free game.
Once again, I don't really see how someone is getting a free game in this case. It's not hurting the devs in the short or long term, small or big scale. If anything, it helps them, because more people play the games, which means more people will likely know about the games and buy them. This is something I have heard absolutely no people on the developer side complain about.

But why buy when you already have it?
Like this: I could put all 70 odd VC/WW games from my wii to WiiU, that's a given, but then if they were still on my wii I could give my wii (with all 70+ games) to my cousins for free

I was referring to your iPad logic, not this. What Nintendo is doing definitely makes sense. Sorry for the confusion.
However, I think what some people could potentially complain about would be losing some save data, but with the exception of the data lost from pressing the home button and the game being "paused" from there, nothing else would be lost. I don't see why anyone would be up and arms about this.

Ok iPad thing sorta makes sense since I have like 5 games, but imagine if my dad bought $1000 worth of games and I had them as well for free

Think of it this way: families, when owning a console, play games as a household. It makes sense for those games to have multiple profiles so that multiple people can play and enjoy the game.
I-devices can't exactly work the same way, since they are smaller and generally made for a single person rather than a household (outside of Apple TV, of course). However, multiple people can own these devices in a household. Since the mentality for software in any medium is "the whole family should be able to enjoy this", it makes sense that accounts would allow for people to be able to enjoy the same games without having to buy them multiple times. The logic of this is applied to movies and music as well as games. It makes utilizing the devices more convenient for a household as a whole, meaning:
1) More devices sold
2) More games sold due to more people using the devices.
It's a win-win from all perspectives.

Apple and the devs making stuff for their devices are aware of circumstances like that. The pros just outweigh the cons. I know that I would not have wanted an iPod touch if I had to buy all the songs my dad already owned. Since I've gotten my iPod, however, I've been buying lots of music, so it ends up being a plus for Apple and for music makers. The same logic applies to games. A lot of people just wouldn't have gotten the device if it wasn't possible to share stuff as a family, and more sales come from that in the short term, and in the long term as well for both the hardware and the software.

Now, you do have to realize that you will have to sync up to your dad's computer every time that you want to update your device, and you won't be able to back stuff up except on your dad's computer. That will become a pretty big hassle. That's part of why this account-based system works. Using devices outside of the family becomes quite troublesome.

You will have to eventually.
After a year or two, you won't be able to purchase anything on the App Store because your device will not have been upgraded to the necessary requirements. It has nothing to do with the requirements of the app; it has to do with Apple wanting you to keep your device updated.
