Unless something drastic happens, I think it's safe to say that the Wii U has all but lost the vast majority of 3rd party titles coming out. But the question is, will the system do well enough on its own?
I personally think it will provided certain steps are taken, such as strengthening the eShop with more games like N64 and GameCube titles, tapping into their huge IP pool to bring back old favorites like Star Fox and F-Zero while also introducing new ones, and most importantly, get really aggressive with the advertising, particularly involving previously mentioned potential new IPs and clearing up the general confusion the public has with the system.

If the Nintendo 64 and the GameCube managed to be profitable after all, I can't see Wii U doing worse. So, it will survive. But, of course, it's not going to be a smashing hit like Wii was. The best Nintendo can do it keep making games to please the long time fans, because those are the loyal ones.
... Just how many of these threads are gonna keep happening on this site? I swear its like a freaking vicious cycle. Heck, I bet tomorrow we're gonna see another thread incredibly similar to this one. I can see the thread now... "Man, the Wii U's third party sucks! Is it doomed?"
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I think they will get more 3rd Party support- obviously won't see much this year but at some point, there will be enough Wii U users where it makes better economic sense- maybe even essential.
The only real reason I brought this up is because at the beginning Nintendo said the Wii U was going to bring the "hardcores" back, even though that clearly didn't happen.

@WingedSnagret Oh.. is that so? What kinda exclusives do Sony and Microsoft have that Nintendo doesn't have? There's alotta reasons the Wii U is struggling and the "hardcore" crowd is NOT high on the list. A bunch of hardcore games on the Wii U wouldn't change anything except... "Oh, hey. A mature game on a Nintendo platform. That's been happening FOR A WHILE NOW."

and if they become common people will say "look yet another M game for Nintendo I don't see the appeal of those"

WiiU will have some third-party exclusives, but not most of the hardcore multiplats. It is in a different market. Obviously it would like to get at least a chunk of the hardcore market, just as the Playbox Twins would like a chunk of Nintendo's market. But neither is very successful at that. It is just like the way iBooks would like to compete with Amazon and Amazon's digital music department would like to compete with iTunes. Success is very limited outside one's main market.
It killed the Dreamcast, it might kill the Wii U. Nintendo doesn't cater to every genre, the Wii U has few oddball, inciting games (unless you count Pikmin 3) that are exclusive. The Wii U is on track to have only about half the Dreamcast's sales in the same amount of time. Though I love both dearly, I doubt the Wii U will be an industrial success, RIP Dreamcast
