I'll probably just get tennis and boxing, since those were my favourite. I hope more people will appreciate boxing with motion plus, since it seemed like that was the one game people complained the most about the motion controls. I usually didn't have a problem unless I was punching too rapidly.
Plus unlike the other two major consoles having not to pay a constant price for online play on it's own makes this a good deal.
Also with the simplistic play style of these games it will give Nintendo a chance to continue to improve their online capabilities for more demanding online games in the future.
I really hope that's the case, that this is an experiment for a new online gaming infrastructure. With Mario Kart and SSB coming out, it would be great if they made the online very organized and do away with the inherent problems of online play: quitters, cheaters, trash-talking, and imbalanced opponent matching.
I imagine this is precisely what it is. An experiment in branching out the Miiverse infrastructure and figuring out new ways to bring that special Nintendo "Charm" to the world of online multiplayer/competitive play. The whole 24-Hour "Clubroom" structure will be interesting to experiment as well, as I imagine it'll make for a much more personal experience as you communicate with fellow club members, even when they're potentially strangers
This is where the old thread is?

I just played online for my first time! It's VERY nice! I also love the commands you can say, and how you can change them.
They'll probably add more sports by the time going. I hope they add a retail version with full access from the starts, and the new sports get free. When all that happens, I might play this game every day! Edit:
Alright, I noticed something incredibly stupid with Tennis. Your guy will stand with his racket to his right, if I point my Wiimote right, and vice versa. They problem is, 1: It takes too long for him to change position, right to left, left to right, and 2: After I've hit the ball (right handed), I go from pointing the Wiimote right then left, because of the swing. I always forget to turn back, so when I return the ball, my guy screws it all up... This sucks so incredibly hard. Plays another round...
Alright so I got used to it, BUT NOW THE BALL WENT THROUGH ME TWICE.
I'm having mixed feelings about this, but it's still fun. Edit 2:
Oh, and the Miis look super weird ._.
Hmm, I haven't really had any problems with Tennis. I noticed the changing of left to right, but I liked that, because if I recall correctly, that was done automatically in the Wii version.
Yeah that's true, I realized that I played wrong, and you have to plan ahead.

All I'm wishing for, is Wii Sports Resort's sword game. I LOVED that one!

"We're doubtful that a future update to Wii Sports Club will open up worldwide play and communities that can play each other regardless of continent"
Anyone tried playing COD from UK with Aussie people? It's impossible! Same thing with Tennis. So please Nintendolife understand that
tennis is fast paced game like COD and it can't be played between continents without LAG. Due high distances latency (ping grows beyond 150 to 250 which is too much)
PAL region lock is the best solution where Australians need to pick their OWN club.
Someone will say "BUT HOW DOES MARIO KART WII WORKS" well It's technically very different game with very different online mechanics.
IIRC, that last Iwata Asks made it clear they already had a lot of difficulty getting the online to work well with what they were trying to accomplish in the game. Especially considering Nintendo's use of TEH SOCIAL is based heavily on communicating with words on Miiverse (ok admittedly drawings tend to try to overshadow that but still!), I don't find much issue in the casual tennis game not connecting to different continents. Especially with the club emphasis.
The online works brilliantly with Bowling but being in Australia and in Perth it gets pretty bad in Tennis. Not that I'm that bothered by it, I was always into the turn based games in Wii Sports more than the live action ones. Very much looking forward to Golf online! Maybe even Archery? Both would be great.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
Online play has worked perfectly for me, except for maybe my actual playing but anyway a couple of questions, is there a way to tell if your "Online Banter" actually got sent, and 2 can you send more personal messages that will keep it within the game and not through miiverse. They really should have added voice support.

Darn you Nintendo, my backlog is already out of control and you are just making it worse with these new game announcements!!!!
Alright, I'm ready for a morning tennis session if anyone wants to challenge a level 10 player... Just be prepared for the inevitable sex change I will perform on you
I'm perfectly happy with this game. My only gripe is that there is no choice for a rematch. I would have loved to have been able to have a rematch with people in tennis or bowling.
Can someone clear up two things:
1. Does the free trial begin when you download it or when you first start playing it? I'm pretty sure it's the latter, I just want to make sure.
2. Exactly how big is it? They said 1.3 GB, but when I went on the eShop it said it was only 40 MB. I ask because at the bigger size I won't have enough free space left for both this and Wii Fit U, and my wife really wants Wii Fit U so I will have to put this off until I get an external hard drive (hopefully at Christmas).
@Xyphon22: The trial begins with the first playing and you have to download 1.3 GB for playing tennis und bowling. The 40 MB is just the channel without the two sports.
Bowling is great, the only lag there is at the end of replays. Tennis...not so much. Anything below a 4 bar connection is unplayable, and since I live in Australia, I get a lot of that...
I would love a way to filter out the horrible connections.
When playing bowling online, I played against one guy whose mii would bowl very slowly. I'm not sure if that was lag (I think it was) or if he was just somehow bowling slowly. During Tennis I've had a couple matches with a little bit of lag, but not enough to make the game anywhere near unplayable. I've been choosing the "Anyone" option whenever playing online, so that might have something to do with it.
Just saying. Online was the best thing that could have ever happened to the Wii Sports franchise. I'm so happy that even with my high latency satellite internet connection, I can fully enjoy multiplayer games of bowling online, hardly any lag. It's amazing. Thank you so much Nintendo. Can't wait to punch people in the face over the internet with Boxing. (I probably need a better internet connection for that.) Oh well! Also, my bowling arm is SORE.
