Topic: wii remote on the wii u?

Does anybody know if the wii remote is possible to use with the wii u games or is it only wii remote plus that works?

I think regular wii remotes work for some games and others need motion plus.

I have two motion plus wiimotes , and two of the older shorter wiimotes. They both seem to work the same when synced with Wii U.

It depends on the game. You can check the back of the box of the game to see which controllers it supports. New Super Mario Bros U supports both regular and Motion Plus. In Nintendo Land, all attractions except for Battle Quest supports regular Wii remotes.

If the game controls require you to hold the remote sideways, it's more than likely gonna support regular Wii remotes.

It'd be great to have a cross-reference of which games require the motion plus - I s'pose it won't be long before someone creates a Wikipedia sntry for this
