Topic: Wii Party U is great Multiplayer Game

I just played Wii Party U and I have to say: It's the best party game I've ever seen. There are games, you can play alone or with two players. But the great potential is the four player mode. It's a shame Nintendo didn't allow more than four Wii-Motes for the WiiU, because a real house party has easily eight or more guests

I'm thinking about getting this one. I only saw the game with wii mote+ bundled. And I do need an extra motion+, and since the game is like €40, it seems like a good deal. The motion+ alone is more or less that price right?

Checking the Australian eShop, the download version of the game costs just as much as the RRP of the game+remote bundle. Good luck to other countries, hopefully it won't be the same case for you.

Do you need a Wii Remote Plus to play this game, or will the regular ones work just as well?

Thanks!

I got hooked on it and ended up spending the whole evening playing it. My only complaints are that the AI is goofy unless at high difficulty and that I strongly dislike games that rely on chance. The games I love, I LOVE, and there are a lot of them so far. I love the Balldozer and fashion games. Haven't played through all the board games yet, but those two are my favorites out of the three I've played. And, maybe most of all, I love Party Phil and his insane gibberish.

Wii Party U, Nintendoland, and WarioWare are all examples of minigames done right and everyone else should take notice.

I want to get it but it's not on the eShop!! I already have six Wii remotes and I really don't need a seventh. Plus I like to take advantage of the DDP program, and I'd rather just have all of my games on the console so I don't have to store jewel cases and bring them all over to a friend's house. Also planning on getting a motorcycle so space will really be a concern then. Even 10 boxes of games can take up a LOT of space.

So basically, I would get this game if it was on the eShop...but I refuse to buy the retail version. Good job Nintendo!

Does anyone know if it'll eventually be on the eShop in the US?

Waiting for my pre-order copy from Newegg. It'll likely get to me by Monday or Tuesday.

So in you guys' opinion, what's the best way to experience the minigames in multiplayer? That is, without outright playing them as-is from the minigame menu? The long highway mode is just boring, and Gamepad Island doesn't have enough minigames in a typical playthrough. Some other modes are fun like the facial expression one, but that one doesn't have minigames. So, something quick and fun which also has plenty of minigames in a single playthrough?

Just got it today. I think it's pretty cool. I actually think that more games like this in the future would be great for Wii U sales. It's just something that you can either play every now in short bursts by yourself and then play when company comes over.

Can you play the 1vs3 minigames as 1vs2 as well? Wondering because usually at our game nights we are only 3 people, and the 1vs3 minigames seems like the most fun to me.

I haven't tried the multi player ones just yet. I'm assume that you can.

I was wondering what the high street price is in the UK.

Yeah, you can have an AI player along for the games.

Just got this game last night, my girlfriend loves mini game type games and I figured it would be nice to have a party game for the family this holiday season. So far it has been pretty fun, nothing spectacular, but fun indeed. A number of mini games are very fun and unique while some mini games leave a lot to be desired. Im sure there is still a lot left to discover, but so far so good.

Had it for a couple of days, but didn't play it until last night when my sister, her husband and her kids came over after Trick or Treating. First I played the marble one with my nephew, but that seemed rather meh. Next we tried the Highway, but my bro-in-law and my niece joined in so all four of us were playing. Even though we only went about 2 rounds due to them needing to leave, it was much more enjoyable. Definitely a game where you need multiple people.

The tabletop games ARE the 'killer app' (look at me talkin' street!) that everyone says the gamepad needs. It's stupidly simple and addictive and I've wasted Friday because of it.

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

Had a lot of fun with Wii Party U over the weekend. The board game modes are a far cry from what the original Wii Party offered, but other modes like Name that Face and the sketching game make up for it.
