Topic: Wii games won't work on Wii U?

I recently found out you could play regular Wii games on the Wii U and attempted to load one up (Epic Mickey if it's important). I put the disc into the Wii U, then clicked on the Wii Menu option with the Wii U game pad. It brings me through a bunch of information screens, and then asks me to use my Wiimote to select the Wii Menu. This is where I meet my problem. I have four different Wiimotes, all of which I have tried and failed to get to respond with the sensor bar. I have put brand new batteries into them.

You know how when the sensor bar detects the Wiimote, the Wiimote vibrates a little bit? That is happening to me, but the arrow/hand does not appear on the TV screen. I'm sure the sensor bar is plugged in, the right batteries are in the Wiimote, but I still don't know what's wrong. Can I have some help?

I'm so glad people know what they're doing and are willing to help the clueless. I did need to sync the Wiimote, thanks!

I use to have the same problem, even when try to play some of the games in Nintendo Land.

The reason of problem looks to be very foulish but is real: I bend the cable of the sensor bar, so they wouldn't detect any wiimote+ or wii motion.

So....don't bend the cable.
