Not to me - is it possible you have the Wii Fit channel installed? If so you might want to delete it.

I'd heard that some Wii users had issues with the channel, but that never carried over to my Wii U with the Wii system transfer. I'm reluctant to send it back to Nintendo HQ (don't trust them not to lose my 200ish VC/WW games, Mims etc.) so I'll see if the next update irons out the bug. I'm not certain it is Wii Fit U that caused it, but that was the last thing I did before the error screen appeared.

Greetings to all Wii Fit users from Asuncion, Paraguay in the heart of South America. I have one cuestion to you as user of Wii fit Plus for 4 years since I buy it as a Christmas present for my family, since then my wife is the main user , tracking her weight in a dayly basis. This year when become available the Wii U system we buy it. now we have the Wii Fit U version and the Wii Fit Plus working in the wii mode. Problem #1 Wii Fit U transfer only the last 1 year of data from the wii fit plus. (we can live with this situation since the data is still available in the older version) Problem #2 we (especially my wife) FOUND differences in measurements of weigth between version!! (between 500 grams to 1 kilograms!) We have test this using both version in exactly the same conditions except for the Game pad which must be hold in front of the user s face.. Anybody with the same problem? Any advice? So sorry about my bad english, Greetings to all of you and thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, there is a weight measurement inaccuracy. In my case, it cuts off 8-10 lbs. The only thing we can hope for is a software update that can make the weight measurements more accurate. Until then, I just take into account that it measures 8-10 lbs. lighter.

There were also some issues with choosing what measurement you want to use, so I'm pretty sure that Nintendo is aware of the increased accuracy and options that users want available. I would think they are working on a fix, as the game isn't available for everyone yet, so it's somewhat in a test period, I think.

I thought it was supposed to subtract the weight of the GamePad from your weight for Wii Fit U, but maybe it doesn't actually then. If you don't hold the GamePad for the weigh-in on Wii Fit U, do you get the same weight as Wii Fit Plus?

8-10 pounds sounds more like an issue with thick carpet or a poorly calibrated Balance Board, unless that's an 8-10 pound discrepancy between Wii Fit Plus and Wii Fit U you're talking about.

@iphys
I'm not entirely sure. I don't remember the differences between U and Plus, but I'm assuming they're using it in the same area as they always have.

I'm basing my weight differences on a weight scale compared to the balance board, not the differences between Wii Fit Plus and Wii Fit U.

Enjoying this so far, most of the games I'm playing are pretty fun and the mix between yoga/core exercises and the mini games is good. Definitely plenty to keep me entertained and motivated anyway!

However, things that annoy:

I didn't come from a Wii, I bought a Wii U a few weeks ago. I borrowed a balance board from a friend and bought the £20 Meter and unlocked the trial, so far so good. Go through the physical trainer mode and 2 games in 'Please sync your WiiMote Plus'. Well I don't have one, so lets skip? Ah no, can only exit. Can I tell it I don't have any Wiimotes? No. I can tell it Balance Board Only but that removes other games. OK, so £30 for a copy of Wii Party U with a wiimote and off I go again. 3rd game in 'Please connect a 2nd Wiimote' ..

Are you ####ing kidding me?! Why is there no option for me to tell the system 'Hey, I have the following hardware - please base the personal trainer around this'. I intend to get more Wiimotes in the future, but I've spent enough money on the system this month as it is! I'm just relying on choosing exercises and following the suggestion at the end now, but I liked the idea of the PT setting a time/calorie based goal and building a set for you.

Other than a few minor gripes (some games are a little lacking in tutorial, and I accidentally chose 'left handed' on squash and haven't found a way to tell it I screwed up), it's a good game and I'm looking forward to doing the 2x Wiimote games eventually. Having the trial unlock with purchase of the Meter is a good idea as I'm not personally convinced I'd pay £20 for the meter otherwise, but it's a fun thing to carry around. (When I don't forget it...)

Also the system seemed to indicate that after I'd created my community, I could invite my friends to it from there but I've not been able to find an option within Wii Fit U or within the Community on Miiverse, and had to rely on writing down the code and emailing it. Have I missed something?

They think that if you have a Wii balance board, you'd have at least one Wii remote + as well. Some games use the nunchuck, but also have the option to use 2 Wii remotes. The part that got you ahead of yourself was borrowing the Wii balance board.

I'm not quite sure about the Gym community, honestly. I don't think full Miiverse integration has been implemented yet. That's where they expect you to communicate more often as soon as they make more features available on the system. Hope this helps. It's somewhat of a waiting game for most of us here on how Nintendo will improve their system.

Yeah I think they need to be registered as Wii U friends first before they can be invited to a community. The workaround for friend codes is to swap Nintendo Network IDs as I'm pretty sure these are unique cross-system (though I could be wrong), but then you'd need to register a Nintendo Network ID for that.

Two remotes isn't that outrageous considering it's a social console, but if you're new to the whole thing then, yeah, it's a lot of extra kit to buy!

I'd like to think Nintendo were smarter than that, given that Wii Fit U comes as a kit consisting of the balance board, the wii fit meter, the game but no wiimotes. I doubt the packaging has emblazoned on it "Hey, you just spent £80 on this bundle, but don't worry you only need to spend another £60 to get the full use of it!". I'm glad that there's plenty of games that can make use of the controllers people migrating from the Wii can use, it's a smart plan, but not giving the software flags to tell it you don't have everything it expects is a really big oversight. Until I buy yet another piece of hardware, I simply can't use the main part of the game.

@Sean_Aaron

Weird, the people I was going to invite are already on my Wii U friends list, but I just couldn't see an option to invite them along to that particular community. It's possibly something I've missed.

Yeah two remotes isn't outrageous at all, I fully intend on getting the full compliment (probably 2 motion plus, 2 normal and a few nunchucks) but I'm guessing that a Wii + Wii Fit U bundle might be Christmas gifts for some people and even though we're not talking Xbone levels of pricing, it's a lot of money to find out you don't have all the hardware necessary! I'm scouring second hand shops for more wiimotes but they're not as common as I was hoping for, sadly.

e: I have a similar gripe with Wii Party U, I unpacked it yesterday and sat down with 2 friends and found out the Wiimote they included with it was only enough to play 1P games, as opposed to 1 player on the Wiimote and 1 on the gamepad as I incorrectly presumed. Another kick in the butt! We ended passing the wiimote around, but the 1P game is pretty ropey - you have to watch all the computers dice animations and the competition in the mini games is pretty inept. It'll be a lot more fun when I get more wiimotes, but it's another example of spending a fair chunk of money (the retail here is £40 which is around $70) to find out you can't play multiplayer even with the included controller!

@UberHund I suspect that your friends would also have to have Wii Fit U?

With regards to your quest for more Remote Plus units you might have missed it, but apparently Nintendo are selling refurbished ones via their new online store - it's worth a look!

Yep my friends do have it, but I'm talking on a general level - I cannot see any way of inviting anyone to the community. Maybe I misread a menu or something, it's not a massive deal.

Sadly Nintendo don't do refurbished hardware in the UK or I would've jumped on a few of those Wiimotes earlier this month, the $20 Wiimote/Nunchuck pack is pretty great (although I'm sure it'd be 2x the price here anyway!)

I have one question about the Wii Fit U trial offer.
http://wiifitu.nintendo.com/free-trial/

In the offer you can download it for free up to Jan. 31, 2014. If you register the Fit Meter you get to use the free version indefinitely.

My question is if you need to remove the free version from your system will you still be able to redownload the free version after Jan. 31, 2014 to use it with your fit meter or will you have to purchase it?

@Rob_mc_1 I have a feeling once the paid version is available for download in February people who have the Free Trial version will get an automatic upgrade and the trial version will be removed, just leaving the demo video channel (which auto-downloaded for some reason even though I already had the trial and unlocked it) to advertise it.

But there's nothing in the Nintendo website which answers your query that I can see...

im kind of disappointed in the lack of more standardized controls. some games need a nun chuck, some games only work with two wii remote pluses, some games have you stepping on the balance board, some have you run while holding the wii mote, and some try to measure your footsteps just from holding the gamepad. its very frustrating, and would make some games impossible for people that might not have a second plus controller or a nun chuck. its nice that there is variation, but they should have been options to pick those modes in each game.

overall i do like it though, and i hope the address the control options in an update. i still don't really want to get the step meter though. i wouldnt mind a $10-$15 download only option. i don't get why they won't let you use the step counter from the 3ds though.

If you remove the game after the promotion is over you will not be able to redownload it. Anyone doing this Fit Meter promotion may be able to use the trial edition indefinitely. Just don't remove it.

Look the games that use the double Wii remotes are great. If Nintendo had to sacrifice the gameplay so people can have the full experience from the start i would be disappointed. Its great to think that every Wii U or Wii fit software would come bundled with remotes or nunchuks but its just not realistic. I'm so glad that it didn't hinder Nintendo from making Wii remotes/nunchuks games. I don't think Nintendo is hiding the information at all. I knew well before that Wii fit u had Wii remote only games. They were completely open about it and revealed all the games and the data.

I would suspect that they misunderstood the question and that once the full version is out you're allowed to download that.

TBH I'm kinda surprised the software for the full version will ever cost anything. They already have you buying one or maybe two Fit Meters at $25AU and a Balance Board which you probably paid $100 for anyways. If you don't have the balance board you're at the very least going to have to source one for at least $20AU. Adds up really quickly... then they want to charge for the download ontop of that. Seriously, it's not like there's distribution costs anymore.

They're probably trying to avoid a situation similar to what @UberHund got themselves into. They don't expect anyone to be that mixed up with the early download of the game, but it would be a pretty big issue when they fully release it at retail. I downloaded Wii Fit U, knowing that I would need the board and a Wii remote, then I got a Fit meter not too long after to keep the full game.

They need to make sure that anyone who buys this game has at least one Wii remote, one way or another. You can still use most of the game without the Wii Fit Meter, so it's not exactly necessary to require people to have it aside from the promo.

I have a question. I haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if it was already answered.

What will happen if you change something about your User Mii? Will the game apply the changes to your Wii Fit U account?

Thanks in advance.
