Hi there,

1 - Can I use multiple meters for multiple people all on the same single Wii U? IE, me, wife , daughter etc? All with out own 3 totally separate meters?

2 - Our Wii U is for Xmas. Is there anyway I can start counting steps now/today and then download then on Xmas day? No worries if not, its not that long away but would be nice if I can.

Many thanks.

1- Yes.

2- You need to connect the Wii fit meter to the Wii Fit U software only once before you start using it.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Please note that you need a Wiimote for Wii Fit U (don't know if that's included with the Wii Balance Board). For some exercises the Kung Fu, you'll also need either a Wiimote+Nunchuck (I think 2 Wiimotes works as well).

Related question: is there some place where the best high scores (globally) for Wii Fi U are shown?

Yes. Use of the Fit Meter is completely optional (though you will get more out of the software if you do have one), however, if anybody wishes to use the Fit Meter, then they must each have their own.

No. You must use the Wii Fit U software in order to create a profile which will be transferred to your Fit Meter (the Wii U Gamepad writes data to the Fit Meter through its infared sensor and vice versa). As soon as you create a profile and transfer data to your Fit Meter, you can start using it right away. It will work as a pedometer (count your steps), provide an estimation of the number of calories that you have burned based on both the number of steps that you have taken, as well as through the Fit Meter's measurement of your METs (basically, this judges the exhaustiveness of your physical activities to determine an estimation of how many calories you've burned) as well as measuring the altitude. The Fit Meter can store around 30 days worth of data, however, it will store only 7 or so days worth of altitude data, so it would be best to transfer your Fit Meter data to the Wii Fit U software about once a week (I tend to do it once a month though).

You can still use the software (such as the Body Test) without a Wii Remote, however, to make the most of the software (particularly the workouts), you will need at least one Wii Remote and a nunchuk controller.

Thank you guys.

1 - This is great news. I was worried Nintendo may limit to one per console to try and get more console sales when all this does is get peoples backs up. Pleased they haven't. I look forward to an family competition.

2 - I can last. Its only a week anyhow.

Thanks again to all who replied.

That's ridiculous. Did you seriously think it would make an ounce of business sense for Nintendo to leave their customers with no other option but to buy a separate Wii U for each player in a household? That would defeat the purpose of owning a home console vs. a handheld. The only company with enough contempt for their customers to pull something like that is Microsoft.

Well, if you want each user to unlock his/her own content in SSB U, you need to buy one Wii U each.

While separate user data would have been a possibility for Super Smash Bros for Wii U, I'm actually glad that it doesn't as my brother plays the game a lot more than I do and really, I'm not missing anything by not unlocking the content myself. I think the only time that individual user data is utilised is when one plays online.
