Picked up the wii u zombie pack from toys r us yesterday (uk) and tried to get some of my wii games to work. I needed an update (2.0.0E) which I did, went into the wii mode but no matter which of my wii disks I inserted, I got the disk invalid disk error every time.
Check disks were not scratched and checked them on both my wii consoles and they worked.
Spoke with Nintendo who were unable to help and suggested I called toys r us which I did.
Toys r us had no more premier consoles to swap with so will keep it until they do which could be after Xmas
Has anyone else tried wii games on their wii u consoles?
I haven't actually tried any yet... but will soon, I suppose, if I can get over the fact of how terrible they'll look on my new HDTV... If you still have your Wii, I'd suggest using that in the mean time.

People have been saying that the Wii games on the Wii U actually look a bit better due to the use of HDMI, and also scale filtering from 480p to 1080p.

If you already used an HDTV for the Wii, then I'm sure that's true. However, I just hooked up my Wii U to a new HDTV, and so far the Wii Menu & the Wii Shop channel look significantly worse than on my old SDTV.
