Topic: Wii Balance Board not working with Wii Fit U?

Hello, I recently got a Wii U and Wii Fit U with the Meter. I purchased it without the Balance Board because I already have one, thinking it would work because all balance boards are the same. It works just fine on the Wii U with Wii Fit Plus, but when I started up Wii Fit U for the first time today, I got up to the first body test, and it left me with this message:

"Put the Wii Balance Board on the floor, and press the POWER button with your foot."

I've tried, and it flashes blue a couple times before turning off. I've replaced the batteries with fresh ones, I've deleted my User Mii and replaced it with another, I've started Wii Fit U from scratch rather than transferring data, and nothing has worked. I've also tried removing all my remotes and re-syncing everything. It registers that my Balance Board is actually SYNCED on the Wii Fit U as well, which made me think I had fixed the problem, but nope, it didn't work even then. My only option has been to close out of the game, return to the main menu, and then the Balance Board seems to work again.

I bought the original Wii Fit Plus from someone in our main area, along with a Balance Board. Taking a closer look at it, it doesn't seem to be officially Nintendo's, but rather an ICON knock off. It works just fine on the Wii Fit Plus playing it on the Wii U, just not the Wii Fit U. Is there anyway around this with knock offs, or should I look into getting a specifically licensed Nintendo Balance board? Any help would be appreciated, this is getting rather frustrating. : [ Has anyone had this problem with a knock off Balance Board but got it working again with the new Wii Fit U?

Has anyone else experienced this? I'd like to verify if this is an isolated incident or a more common issue. I might have to cover this at a certain website that I work at if enough people are experiencing this problem.
