All I know is, I'm going to wait for the price to drop just like I am with the 3DS. I'm a college student, I can barely afford food. And plus, if the initial game line-up is like the one for the 3DS then I know I won't be the only one waiting.
Well, I guess a new console in 2012 for the following 6 or 7 years cannot be just slightly more powerfull than PS3. One year later MS and Sony can vaporize it again with hardware 10 times more powerfull than the WiiU and kill it the very first day dropping the prices of PS3 and 360. What if they were keeping and promoting both products, Wii and WiiU being the latter expensive (500~600€) but way more powerfull than PS3? By 2013 drop the price, drop the Wii and try to survive 5 years more. Problem is that they are giving the impression that Wii will be dead even before WiiU hits the shops.
Hmmm... this is still a tricky one. The controller screen does give them a difference to their competitors to possibly put a premium on the price even if the console can "only" produce games that look the same graphically. Crucially, the Wii was technically inferior in graphics and they're the first thing a lot of people judge games on. So if the Wii U produces similar graphics in 2012 you could say it might cost similar to the 360/PS3 at around £130 - £170 or whatever they may cost. But then there's the controller screen. How much can you add for that based on what we saw at E3?
