Hi everyone, new on this site. I'm going to buy a Wii U soon, been a Nintendo fan since the NES days and there is just something about Mario and Zelda that makes me come back. But next to Mario and Zelda, which games are also worth buying?
Rayman Legends if you've liked any of the co-op platfomers of the past few years and Wonderful 101 if you like complicated action-heavy crazy japanese stuff.
Well if you like Mario and Zelda, get Super Mario 3D World and Wind Waker HD. I would stay away from New Super Mario Bros. U though....not very fun. Maybe you'll like New Super Luigi U but it's too much of the same thing in my opinion.
OTHER than that, I would say definitely get Rayman Legends and Pikmin 3. Both are very fun games that you can't go wrong with.
I personally don't like Wonderful 101 (although I am a Viewtiful Joe fan), but maybe you will. I would say try out the demo first. You can also try the ZombiU demo, but that was one of the worst games I have ever played. Came bundled with my Wii U, had to sell it.
If you like NES games, you could try NES Remix. Also Cloudberry Kingdom is fun if you like BRUTALLY hard platformers. Nintendo Land is fun if you have four other people to play with.
Pikmin 3 is a solid and unique real time strategy game.
Rayman Legends is great if you've got some friends to play with
Darksiders 2 is a more action-heavy Zelda-like game. Give that a shot if you just can't wait for the new Zelda; it's a great game.
Assassin's Creed IV is a great game, and could very well be the greatest pirate game ever (if you don't count Wind Waker as a pirate game, which I don't). Has some surprisingly great sailing mechanics, at least in my opinion, and the story is pretty cool too.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a fantastic Shooter RPG with a ton of value attached to it. There's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to controls, but once you get into it, it'll suck you in.
Mass Effect 3 is really cheap right now. Like, less than $15 cheap. I may not like it as much as Mass Effect 2, but it's an excellent game.
Need For Speed: Most Wanted U is an excellent open-world arcade racer, and it can be gotten for pretty cheap nowadays.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a well-done stealth shooter. Multiplayer is pretty much unplayable, but the singleplayer is excellent.
Call of Duty as a franchise has some stellar shooting mechanics. Yeah, the games are same-y, but if you've never played one, it's hard not to recommend. They're really solid games. The general consensus is that Black Ops 2 is the better of the two games on Wii U.
Give the Monster Hunter demo a try before you buy it. It's a love-it hate-it kind of game, and I personally fall on the hate-it side. I just couldn't get into it. I suppose you could say the same about ZombiU, which also has a demo, but I somehow found it to be passable, nothing more. The Wonderful 101 also has a demo... that turned me off of the game completely. Give it a try before you buy.
