Topic: Why the E-Shop Restriction

Hi why is there a restriction on viewing content on e shop im 33 and have no parental controls

On WiiU there isn't, so I assume once NN ID attach to the 3DS it'll be the same
Edit: I just realized you meant WiiU.... Strange mine doesn't have any....

I think that Nintendo restricted viewing 18+ content for a specific period of time (day time) and only allows viewing them at night... for some odd reason.

@jibberldd5 the thing is though most 10 year olds aren't up past 11:00. also having it like this stops little kids from buying it.
downside though is it also affects mature gamers making it harder for them to download the games they want.

Thank God they didn't restrict you playing 18 rated games till 11pm

This is the most stupid thing Nintendo have ever done (well maybe the vitality sensor) they are gonna alienate people doing things like this

That's an extremely dumb move by Nintendo, we already have parental controls, why also have this?

Plus, the times are 11pm-3am. Those are some pretty random times. I mean, I would sorta understand them going for 9pm-6am or something, but those times are stupid, along with the whole concept.

What Bulby said. These are completely random time that don't really make any sense, so there are people that have to wait a few hours to get a game they want. Completely stupid.

I'm sure it will be changed eventually... unless this is the way Nintendo has been forced to do it by law?

Although you'd think programming the eshop to check a parental setting on the console to know what is allowed to be displayed would be a much smarter way of doing things...more secure too.
