Metroid turned 25 just like Mario and Zelda, did Nintendo celebrate? Nope, its the 3rd wheel completely. I didn't mean neglected game wise, although we could use some more Metroid games. Star Fox 64 3D doesn't count, that's a remake.
And then I went on to explain myself, I initially meant neglected. As in, Metroid hasn't been treated the best compared to Nintendo's other big franchises. Do you mind not trolling? It's really not necessary.
Edit : Just quoting the name of this topic though, real quick.
Neglected =/= forgotten whatsoever. Also Metroid wasn't neglected. They barely put any attention on Mario's anniversary for god's sake and beyond that is the fact that Nintendo had a lot on its plate last year to worry about Metroid.
Also, I'm not trolling.

You did say it though. And, quite frankly, you have no proof to why Metroid is neglected. Just because Nintendo's plate was full with the 3DS launch and software, Zelda's anniversary, and everything else in 2011, doesn't mean Metroid is neglected anymore than Kirby is.

Didn't Other M just come out in 2010? If Metroid is neglected then Punch Out!!, Wario Land, Ice Climbers, Balloon Fight, Star Fox, and Pikmin must all have been seriously violated and abused.
Either way, Metroid isn't supposed to come out every year like Zelda and Mario do. It's not as popular nor has a fanbase nearly as huge as it's neighbors.

I never said neglected in terms of games, I just meant a certain extent, its not treated the best. I shouldn't have to quote myself again.
Explain this because I'm confused. The Wii had 3 Metroid games and the DS had 2, which is 5 game this generation. I think Nintendo pays good attention to Metroid.
What Emaan1 means is that metroid is less poular than mario and zelda and as a result less games are being released for the series. I think that what he is trying to say is he wishes metroid got just as much attention as mario and zelda. Quite frankly i'm with him on this.
Thanks @MrExcite, that's exactly what I'm saying. To me, Metroid has always been "the 3rd wheel" to Mario and Zelda games simply because those two are more popular.
