Topic: Why I wont be getting a Wii-U on Launch Day

Persona 3 and 4, and SMT Nocturne.
Personally speaking, those 3 are arguably the 3 best JRPGs ever made, so its fine to have that kind of opinion. The PS2 was a haven for JRPGs.

Um, just so we're clear, I did mean 'my favorite'. There is no objective 'best' when it comes to video games.

As for my favorite JRPG though, that would be Final Fantasy IX. Nothing else compares

There is no way on earth that any of the last three nintendo home consoles can even begin to match the PlayStation line when it comes to amazing JRPGs.

PS2 was truly a master piece for great JRPGs, I'm so glad some of them are being remade for the 3DS

@HarmoKnight There are PS2 RPGs being remade for 3DS outside of Tales of the Abyss?

@moomoo well I'm not 100% sure on what ones will, but I'm sure DQ VIII will be at some point (after VII obviously) and I can see KH 1 and 2 getting remade, they have that Persona game that was for the PSone already on, so I just think its a matter of time for certian ones to come out, sorry I shouldn't have said some for a couple, but some just seem as obvious as the plot to a new Mario game

Really, I don't see Dragon Quest coming anytime soon. I've seen nothing announced in terms of PS2 RPG ports outside of Tales of the Abyss.

Well seeing as Dragon Quest VII and VIII were the only two out of the main ten in the series to be on a PS and not a Nintendo console, It might happen at some point. Also - no, those DQ games werent the best of the series.

Tommorow's conference will make me decide when I'll get the Wii U. It depends on launch date, price, game release dates, and what the few new games announced at the conference are. It's still most likely launch for me.

@Geonjaha Considering a lot of people say Dragon Quest VIII is their favorite in the series, I'd say the topic is definitely debatable. I can't say much on it, since I've only played IX, but looking around VIII seems to be the one the most people liked.

Anyway, I refuse to buy this thing for a year. Unless if Persona 5 comes out within that time period, I'm going to wait simply because I still have a backlog of games for me to play that will keep me busy for a very long time.

DQVIII was on a Sony console, therefore it is not one of the best games.

Tomorrow's conference will help me decide if I want a WU. Once I get my hands on one, a few times of play, will ultimately allow me to decide, if I want one. As I keep saying, I will probably own one eventually, but that is not definite.

Yes it is, Sony has great 3rd parties from Atlus, Konami, Square Enix, Capcom, and Sega

No, like a Geonjaha. He laughed at me for suggesting that most of the good JRPGs are on Sony consoles, and then went and said that the two PS2 DQs weren't the best in the series.
