All I was trying to point out was the 'U' part that's confusing the media (see the recent story about ABC news) and general populace needs to be emphasised to differentiate I from the Wii. By pointing out the 'U' bit, it would show it's a new console, not an add on.
I would go as far as suggesting all Nintendo employees in interviews refer to it colloquially as the 'U'.

they could unoficially rename it to become the "U"(simply omiting the Wii part to differentiate from the wii, it'll suck, but WiiU is a bad name anyway) this way they wouldn't even need to waste time thinking something new or remaking boxes and stuff
