Nintendo pretty much is doomed after releasing this awful console. I think the PS4 is looking set to take this gen by storm. It has lot stronger line-up of games, better graphics, controller pretty much everything. Xbox1 is going to be probably about as failed as the WiiU is and PS4 is going to win.
Yes, they are doomed. Like they were doomed with the Nintendo 64, the Gamecube, the Wii, the DS and the 3DS. And the PS4 will win because of the Share button. The only innovation it has to offer.

I literally face palmed the second I came on this thread, this guy had already made his opinion beforehand and was just trying to change other peoples opinions to his own. Nintendo's games don't become boring after two months they NEVER get boring (unless you replay the same title over and over again, but I mean the franchises).
I am an avid monster hunter player that started quite recently on Ultimate, (Blue Rath Armor currently) the gameplay just keeps me coming back for more!

This is Ninteno's first plunge into HD gaming, give em a break! As they learn to work with this technology and release more software on Wii U, their games can only look batter and better!
Just look at Uncharted
And I remember how people kept saying how incredible it looked when Uncharted 1 came out and how it couldnt look any better. Yet here we have Uncharted 3 that looks downright amazing and makes Uncharted 1 look like something from the ps2 era, but all 3 of these games were developed on the same console!
The Wii U's power isn't as limited as you think, all it truely takes is some time and skill. Unfortunately right now, only Nintendo and a few 3rd parties are putting effort into doing so. (Ubisoft, I'm looking at you! )
Seriously though despite Nintendo completely dropping the ball on the U's launch and getting any relevant 3rd party support. In due time I think the Wii U will be a nifty little trinket to keep around next to a PS4 or shudder an XBOX ONE.

Is that an in-game model from Uncharted 3 or a more detailed model from one of it's cutscenes? Anyways, Most Nintendo franchises will never aim for this type of realism since most of them outside of maybe Metroid(the prime series aimed for a more realistic approach) are cartoon based...Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, Punch-Out!!, Donkey Kong kid icarus, SSB ect. I can't really see Nintendo games visually going that further than a modern day pixar film when it comes to those shiny, sparkly CG visuals. Definitly more so for Metroid & Zelda if they're aiming for a certain art direction, but there's only so much you can do and they are going to reach a mute point with their franchises graphically speaking faster than either Sony or MS.
Aside from Nintendo being a generation behind in terms of raw power due to wanting to make an affordable console, i also feel that the other reason was because they didn't want to adpot that much power too quickly, again since the majority of their franchises are cartoon-like and the need for...lets say,PS*5* -like power in terms of their own franchises just doesn't really seem all that worth while. The mute point is near, and with each following generation the graphical difference will be smaller and smaller, with innovation being the ultimate driving force.
There's also F-Zero for a Sci-fi realistic look. Star Fox doesn't count as cartoony does it? I'm not sure.

I agree with you, I think that it is too bad that the EA sports franchises will not be on Wii U. A library of games with a wide variety of genres is a great thing for any platform. However, fans of sports games usually go for Microsoft or Sony consoles, no? I am not really the biggest fan of sports in general, although I considered buying Madden for Wii U (until I read the reviews) to play with friends and learn a little about football. For your sake, I am sorry that EA sports games will not be on Wii U.

I think they royally screwed up the launch,and made it worse with their poor (often nonexistant) advertising campaigns. What I do not think, is that the Wii U will be a failure. How can I be certain? I cannot be, however not every console can sell like the Wii, DS, and PS2 have. The Gamecube did not sell well, and the N64 only did a little better. However two low-selling consoles in a row did not destroy Nintendo. The Wii sold PHENOMENALLY well. Better than any other Nintendo home console to date. After that success, Nintendo has a little bit of wiggle room (that will not last forever). It is definitely up to Nintendo to turn things around. Once we get a more steady stream of games, the console will continue to sell better. Even if the Wii U only sells 21,000,000 like the GCN did, I think Nintendo will still be around making consoles. Plus, the 3DS has been doing very well so far; that can't hurt.
We can't be certain that Wii U will be a success, but it seems unlikely that it will be a failure. Many consoles have been plagued with a drought of games, and low sales at the beginning of their lifespans (PS3, XBOX-360 come to mind....). All good things must come to an end. No company lasts forever. I have a feeling that if Nintendo is ever going under, other manufacturers of traditional consoles will be severely hurting as well.

I think that this will be a good thing for gaming. It will force the console manufacturers to innovate and do brand new things if they want to stay afloat.

I'll be honest, even if both Mario titles somehow dissappoint (which even in a post-NSMB2 world I doubt), I'll have this and a Sonic and some other stuff and using a tablet for Watch Dogs, it'll all be worth it. But especially X alone, man...it will be wonderful.

Yes, exactly! Nintendo just started into HD gaming, and needs to adapt and get use too it. Give it some time. Whoa, Drake on Deception is like VERY close to reality! Awesome!
