It depends on if the company releases review copies beforehand or not. If they dont well reviewers will have to wait till release date to get a copy and than take a few days to play it enough to come up with a good review.

The publishers set an embargo and reviews can't go up before that time. Usually if the embargo is really close to release it means they're expecting bad reviews. Online orders would have been posted out yesterday so too late to cancel. I've seen people complaining it has a lot of loading time.

The embargo for this game may expire on the release date. Keep in mind that Nintendo Life is a European site and the European date was pushed back.

Embargo lifts 8am UK time. Seems a bit fishy to be that the game will already be officially released by then.

I guess people's fears about WB Montreal delivering an inferior product were correct. The 360 version is 78 on Metacritic.

any kind of gag order/embargo is a sign of bad news--especially when it ends after the release date.

Reviews don't matter for the most part. If you want the game just buy it.

Reviews same to say that the game is good, but doesn't add anything new to the franchise. Not hard to believe, considering the only reason why this is a prequel in the first place is so that they could use Joker yet again.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Stupidest complaint in the world. When you see games like Battlefield, cod. And assassins creed continue to get 9/10s. I think this is the best of the 3 so far

Gametrailers gave it a 8.9
They are the only review I trust.

Well they had no other way. The death of Joker was the only way they could get Mark Hamil back for Arkham City.

I trust Nintendo Life too. They haven't steered me wrong yet.

I'm liking it so far, I've heard the boss fights are done really well in this one too, so that's something to look forward to.

I like Gametrailers too, lets not forget they gave Shadow the Hedgehog 8.3 though.

I don't see why there is such an emphasis on innovation nowadays. It's great to see games do new things, but sticking with a tried and true formula isn't always a bad thing. The very least they could do is be consistent though, there have been other series, (which I won't name), that haven't changed very much in years but still receive higher praise.

reviewers aren't allowed to complain about a game being a samey sequel considering their reviews of certain other titles

Put it this way if you enjoyed the other two games, you'll enjoy Origins.

I've seen people complaining it has a lot of loading time.

Loading time's are no different than Arkham City.

From what I have heard, it is more of the same. Reviewers seem to be disappointed that there isn't anything new but if you enjoyed the others you will enjoy this one.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I did not see anything new in Skyrim and they gave it a great score, for me it was the same game as oblivion but a bigger map.

The reason I wanted this batman was because I love the controls of the other ones.

I'll answer my own question about how it plays in case anyone is intwresr . Plays really good for the most part. Framwrate drops at times but besides that
