Topic: Who picks the games in WaraWara plaza?

I find it slightly offputting that there are no 3rd party communities featured currently. Given the situation they are in, why not swap Year of Luigi with Batman or Rayman?...

That's a great point, but doesn't it have to do with which boards are getting the most posts? It'd explain the Smash Bros. Board being on Wara Wara Plaza even though it's nothing but crazed troll and fanboy spam.

I agree though, they should make an effort to put certain games up there that need more sales (W101, Rayman, etc.).

I do. I choose those games just because I knew you wanted to see 3rd party games there and I didn't want to give you that satisfaction.

I'm pretty sure it's just showing the most active communities. The only exception being the period over Christmas where they pushed some games they probably wanted people to know about. They were highlighted in gold and it was stuffs like Wii Sports Club, Wii Fit, Just Dance, Disney Infinity. I assume the intention was to make sure that new-users were aware that these games were on the system.

So if it's just the popular communities that explains why the Youtube, Zelda, Luigi and Smash ones are always up there. Especially when those ones are also linked to the 3DS MiiVerse page. Third party games do appear on it but they're short sparks of activity. I mean even now Assassin's Creed and CoD aren't being talked about much in general let along in relation to the Wii U. There hasn't been much if-any third party stuffs since then.

Oh, and W101 and Rayman DID get quite a bit of time on the Wara Wara Plaza. They just don't have the longevity that Wind Waker or New SMB have.

It goes by popularity. If it's "trending" on Miivese it'll be featured in WaraWara Plaza.

Interesting... I think it would be nice if you could choose to have the newest games or the games you own featured as well. I usually pay no mind to the plaza because I dont play most of the games featured.

Lego Movie was on their for about 3 days.

I would assume part of it is chosen by the players age settings and similar games to what they play. I just assumed it was done by algorithms.
