I bought ZombiU off the eShop, and 3 hours later(not the best internet), I finally have it on my console. I'm already stuck on the first mission, because I can't find the other IP camera box. I looked for an hour and stll couldn't find it. I think I'm just going to start the game over since learning how to play it was weird at first, too. Graphics are good, and same with audio from what I saw for people considering buying it. Gamepad use is really good too. I just can't believe I'm stuck on the first objective...

@Ganmaku I would say you're better off not getting Batman or AC3 because they will be way too hard for you bloke :P

Ok so I am looking at Assassin Creed III on the Wii U. Anyone try this one out yet. Is it plagued by the bugs that I hear everyone talking about in the PS3/Xbox versions. How does the game make use of the gamepad?

I'll just go ahead and re-ask this.

I dont think so. I think eShop cards stay on eShop and Wiishop values stay on Wiishop. (IMO they should just merge them).

Actually yes you can use eShop cards on the Wii because I still do but the only drawback is instead of getting 3000 points for a $30 card it only gives you 2000 points ;)

I have some money from Christmas and I'm going to get a WiiU game. I'm either gonna get Scribblenauts or Arkham City.
The only reason I'm particularly worried about Scribblenauts is that it will be too easy. Which one do you guys think I should get?

Do not buy Scribblenauts. I rented it from GameFly and it wasn't what I expected at all. Not enough content, the gameplay got old fast and, like you're worried about, too easy. No substance.

Arkham City is a sandbox game that hits a homerun with hardcore Batman fans. I didn't like AC as much as the next guy, but if you're hungry for a Dark Knight themed Batman game ( not that kiddy stuff), with some of the best voice acting in any game ever, buy it. lol

I second this especially as Cactus said you are a Batman fan. There is alot do even without the DLC (not sure if the Wii U included the DLC). I have the GOTY editon on Xbox which is the only thing preventing me from buying this game on Wii U, rather spend my money on games that I havent played yet. For sure one of the best games to come out in awhile.

Hello there,

I decided that I'll be getting a Wii-U in a few days and since this is going to be my last modern video game console, I want to make the most out of this generation. So are there any titles I should consider looking at? I'm currently considering the following:
Ninja Gaiden III: Razor's Edge (really wanted to get this one for a long time, but bad review of the PS3 version put me off. Are the improvements on the Wii-U version worth it?)
Trine 2
Mighty Switch Force
Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Note that I am getting the Wii-U Deluxe version since I want the two-year premium subscription for free as well as being the only way for me to bother with Nintendo Land and it has 32 GB. Trying to keep the limit at $500, though $400-450 is preferable.

Edit: Another thing, I am trying to avoid inferior ports like FIFA '13 and Madden '13.

Any other upcoming games to keep my eye out for? I am currently anticipating Super Smash Bros. 4 and Bayonetta 2 and want to see if other games would interest me.

Just posting this here.

@abINC4L: Any good places to compare the Wii-U version to the PS3 version? I only consider multi-platform games on the WIi-U if they're as good if not better (not counting glitches, which will get fixed). I heard the Wii-U version didn't provide voice chat but the PS3 version did. Is this true?

Ninja Gaiden III is worth it, the changes are pretty obvious and make a buttload of difference. If you're going to read a review of the PS3 version, why not take a look at the Wii U version's reviews? Any of them will tell you the same. Even Nintendo Life's review had no real complaints about the gameplay other than you spend most of the game killing lots of dudes...in which case, I think anybody with half a brain would know whether or not they'd have a problem with that just by looking at the box art.

Mighty Switch Force - if it's anywhere as good as the 3DS version, grab it. Especially if it's still on sale.

Never liked Trine, but I hear Trine 2 is better. All I'll say on that.

Can't comment of Tekken Tag 2, but I'll bet you wouldn't be asking if you had played a Tekken game before.

As for coming out:

Pikmin 3 - Pretty much the sole reason this console exists as far as I'm concerned.
Rayman Legends - This still exists, you know.
Wonderful 101 - Why are so many people forgetting about this already?!

Okay, I can suggest Batman AC to just about everyone besides people who already own it.

It's essentially the GOTY version (all the DLC, or at least, from what I can tell), and it's almost the same game, besides the fact the menus and map is all real-time (pretty helpful actually) and that the Scanner device uses the touchscreen for decoding rather than the joysticks in the PS3 and 360 versions (A bit gimmicky, but it doesn't take away from the experience at all.)
Also, that's the only example of forced GamePad features usage I've seen so far (besides a side-mission with Sasz).

I'm having a blast with it. Do buy.

The bugs make the AC games fun. You have floating muskets or guards walking on air XD

I highly recommend Sonic Racing Transformed. Like seriously, it's really, really fun.

I've been wanting to get this game for a long time, but the lower review scores concerns me. Since I don't have it on the PS3, I've been trying to ask others to see if it's a worthy investment because I really want to start with some great games for the Wii-U.

Edit: Just remembered that Batman seems to have framerate issues. Has anyone here experienced it any worse than what is present on the PS3/360?

@astarisborn

I've spent a bit of time with it on the Wii U and it plays great. There is a tiny bit of framerate stutter, but i've only encountered it twice in cutscenes and once in game. It really doesn't happen often so don't let it dissuade you from buying the game. Besides, having a map of the city on the GamePad is oh so helpful and worth the tiny bits of slowdown.

Oh my gosh that map is so helpful.
Anyways, I haven't noticed any slowdown (only the intentional one from the FlowMotion combat).

Definitely get it for the Wii U. The lower review scores seem to be just complaints about the completely optional motion controls.

@Cyber_Canuck I heard the Wii U Version of Sonic All Stars Racing was not meant to be very good

Don't believe everything you hear because the majority of it is the subjective hearsay of the chicken-little trolls who've never played it.

What I've read by people who actually played the game on the Wii U suggests otherwise and my own experience and that of my kids and their cousins - all long-term experienced gamers in their early 20's - verifies this.

Some commited Nintendites won't even look at it if it's not got Mario and Kart in the title yet they'll dismiss it and miss playing a great title.

If you want a fast paced, character-based racer with transforming tracks and various modes of vehicular transport, with up to five players local, ten players online , then this is the one to get.
The only crticism I have is that I can't find a way to hook up with a friend in an online game.

I personally wouldn't play AC3, Batman, Ninja Gaiden, or Tekken, but although I'm not naturally predisposed to suggest those types of games to anyone I wouldn't write them off as rubbish based on any 'chicken-little' postings.
If it was a game of a genre that I thought a person would like, and I hadn't read too many negative criticisms written by people who actually owned that game then I'd recommend they do what I'd do - play a demo, check reviews themself, then buy if it all looked good ;)
