Topic: Where will amiibo be used?

Will amiibo only be usable in Local Multiplayer, or are you able to also use them online on the "with friends" mode?

I think Local Multiplayer would be a good idea, if a person trying to get into the game needs a little assistance and can use a figure you have lying around.
