I would like to not have to worry about not being able to play some of my favorite third party games on wii u

Ubisoft is pretty muched locked onto the wii u so we will be getting assassins creed every year thankfully but other developers need to step up and have elder scrolls, fallout, need for speed, battlefield ect

When either A. WiiU hardware sales get better.
B. Nintendo gives 3rd parties money
C. Developers not being so negative about the WiiU just cause
or D. all of the above

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

Don't expect a major reversal of fortunes. At least, don't expect EA to return in full force. But with sales improving, we'll hopefully get more from Konami, Capcom, Square-Enix or Activision.

You know whats sad? Even if the Wii U was selling really well right now... I still think some 3rd party developers still wouldn't put their game on Wii U.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

the only EA game I personally care about is need for speed, but ALL third parties need to port their games to wii u to make the system more appealing

I would say it can only get better...... The indy games are actually flowing quite fast now and eventually EA won't be able to justify not porting FIFA, Madden, and Tiger to a console with 6 Million units and no competition for those genres.

The best thing that can happen to Wii U's 3rd party support is for PSbone to have steep sales drops, otherwise publishers will be vindicated in not supporting Wii U and we'll be first party only before next xmas.

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

Most port there titles to the Wii U. Most of the time there horrible ports so no one buys them. So because no one buys them the developers get upset and decide not to port the latest titles to it. Rightfully so Wii U owners shouldn't accept watered down games.

Look at Call Of Duty. Black Ops 2 sold ok on the Wii U I think. So Activision threw Wii U owners a bone in the form of COD Ghosts. But Activision barely even acknowledges that COD is available on the Wii U. The Wii U version didn't get DLC for black ops 2 did it? The same will happen with Ghosts. Activision will pretty much just take care of the PS3/PS4/PC/360/Xbone/ version and leave the Wii U version to rot just like black ops 2.

I think Wii U will see some 3rd party titles next year. But I personally believe they will be shoddy PS3/360 ports. Nintendo need to do something about it. Am not sure what they can do. But something needs to be done.

Remember Dreamcast? Apparently EA found a reason to not bring its sports games to a 10 million units console. The only football game I remember playing on Dreamcast was UEFA Euro 2000 by Infogrames. So EA can be stubborn for no apparent reason. I have more faith in Konami with Pro Evolution Soccer.
Also, Take-Two will not release this year's NBA 2K on Wii U, so the sports games future on Wii U does look grim.

I doubt third party support will improve, I think first/second party support will strengthen however,

I'm resigned to the fact I will miss around 5-8 games I want to play each year because they will never be released on a Nintendo console.

The third-party developers began to give up on Nintendo around 2009, and there is no getting them back.

If Nintendo wants the big 3rd party franchises on their console they need to show developers that they will sell or put some money up for the development costs(since the main development team(s) will more than likely not be the ones doing the port).

Nintendo could try to show 3rd party developers they are trying to move their games by making some 3rd party bundles, but again you are talking about a watered down port(at least initially) and they'd be competing with bundles that include 1st party games.

If Nintendo wants a great FPS series on their console or a Gears of War type series or a great realistic, racing game they have 2 options:

1. Partner with 3rd party studios that have experience in those genres and bring exclusive games to the Wii U
2. Develop/buy more western studios and let them create those types of games

The bottom line is 1st party titles/exclusives are what move Nintendo consoles. 3rd party ports, especially watered down ones, aren't going to move the needle much, if at all.

If you want those 3rd party multiplats you are going to have to get a PS4/XBO/PC for most of them.

I don't it will to be honest, I think it will just start getting worse as they move to PS4/Xbone and start basing game design around the extra power they offer. I think we will end seeing another Wii with third-party. I think you will just have to get another system for the Bethesda games if you want to play them too, I really don't think they will ever make Fallout and Elder for Wii U.

Not really, the only third party games I care about is arkham, assassins creed, watch dogs, I would pay a full $60 day one for them any day, monolith X and bayonetta 2 and smash bros look more fun than most multiplat games coming

If 10 people actually bought 3rd party games on a Nintendo console for every one of the threads then the Wii U would have every 3rd party game going forward.
