On another note, I actually do expect this same kind of crap with the Xbox One and Playstation 4. They are getting the same attention as the Wii U did last year, and then they're probably gonna fall flat on their faces next year. Microsoft was already heading on that path before pulling a 180 on their stupid rules.

I think PS4 might get past this easily (granted it will cost Sony ALL THE MONEYS to do so) but Xbox is still screwed.

I'm getting both. PS4 and XBOX One, The later when they get rid of Kinect. Ryse, Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, Crimson Dragon... too good to pass up. PS4 Sony has the best first party games (GASP I DARE SAY THAT ON A NINTENDO FORUM.

The ball is in Nintendo's court. So far they dropped it. E3 didn't have anything that made me the Non Nintendo fan rethink getting a Wii U. I was like AWWWW SHHHHH MEGA MAN but that wore off. It's baffling why no F-Zero. Then Ubi Soft goes off on Nintendo and becuase Ubi Soft are fuzzy baby ducks they
crap on Nintendo for Zombi U not selling well...dispite Zombi U being a Wii U game I WOULD Buy. No Soul Calibur 2 on WII U...you know Nintendo fans and Soul Calibur fans would jump on that if they had Link in HD on that. BUT Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

That and other things (a Landry list in the now locked thread) Are why I find it so hard to be a Nintendo fan these days.

But I'll tell you right now. F-Zero Nintendo makes another F-Zero....they have my money.

If you want to have a mature discussion on here, we would all appreciate it if you avoid such juvenile comments.

Anyhow, Ubisoft hasn't really blamed the WiiU for ZombiU not selling tons. They simply stated one of the reasons it didn't sell well. Low installation base. And even so they continue to support it far better than any other third party company by bringing us more games. Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell, Assassins Creed, and some others. They're giving it their all at the moment.

Amusingly the reason Nintendo hasn't made a new F Zero recently is for the same reason you say Nintendo is getting stale. Miyamoto has said that they don't have any new ideas for the game, and they don't want to make another that is essentially the same game as GX. Though I'm with you in saying I wold love an F Zero no matter how unchanged it is.

And I will be really surprised if Microsoft ditches Kinect for the Xbone. They are pushing it as hard as hey can. and making it a vital component.

Third parties just find it very frustrating to compete with Nintendo. Sometimes they hit a home run like Just Dance and sometimes they need Sonic or some other big icon. But generally you see a game like Pikmin 3 getting 88 on metacritic and selling well - and they say - we can never do that without a lot of effort. Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, New Super Luigi U - game after game Nintendo sells and has good reviews, and they must think they're just not capable. However, I'm playing Tomb Raider now and it's pretty similar to The Last of Us - so there's no gap there. They can compete.

I've been accused of being a Sony Fanboy. But what were my options I was sick of the 360 getting the same 4 games over and voer (Same issue I have with Nintendo) SO..PS3 and I love my PS3. I love that it's REGION FREE. But hey I don't want to turn this in a flame War. I'm not here for that. But You gotta admit with all the strides Sony is making with the PS4...kinda hard to hate them now

I missed your topic last night, and it definitely was for the better, but there is something I do need to say about it.

Please, don't ever mention the supposed possibility of Nintendo having killed Yokoi. It's not funny. Fomenting rumors on Nintendo should stop when it comes to the subject of death. This is truly not funny. How about saying Sony killed him, then?

How about he just rest in peace?

Honestly, if you wanna know about the Nintendo Network, ask it to all of us here at Nintendolife who played Mario Kart 7 together a few months ago.

Ask it to the people playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate online.

Ask it to those playing Need For Speed Most Wanted U online.

Ask it to those playing Call of Duty Black Ops II online.

Ask it to the people on Miiverse, posting across platforms.

This discussion is just as dumb as the "next-gen" war, ask the true question to those who enjoy the system and the services and you'll realize how far you can be from the truth.

Well I didn't know what I was getting into. How often does a Non Nintendo fan join a Forum for Nintendo fans to discuss the topic of why he doesn't like Nintendo? For the most part it's been civil, besides when I tried to present my case.

I'm about 99% sure I haven't attacked anyone here. I can be very antagonistic it's my nature but I realize by just being here I'm treading water. But it was never my plan to come here and bash people for liking Nintendo. Quite the Opposite. I want to discuss people with an Opposite point of view.

I already answered this somewhere. Possibly at the very beginning of the thread. I initially wanted to check out some comments a poster made somebody mentioned on a You Tube Video. But then I though, Hey I don't like Nintendo, but I USED TO. Maybe I can get a good discussion going on my beefs with Nintendo and reminiece about the good old days. I just got an N64 (Wii U Launch day I got an N64 even) and it's going to need a few more games there's bound to be something not on my radar. Plus lately I'm just absorbing alot of 8-bit goodness and once I start collecting NES/Famiicom games again I would be nice to discuss what I've stumbled on and what to look for.

I'll be honest here. I'd NEVER buy Soul Calibur 2 HD. I'm fine with playing the gem on my GC.

You keep mentioning Nintendo rereleasing games too much, but Kid Icarus: Uprising, Zelda Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon all had game changing additions that weren't found in previous entries in their respective franchises.

The only version of Soul Claibur 2 I do not have is the Gamecube Version. I might still have the complete save on my memory card. I need to get it at somepoint. To me Soul Claibur 2 was to last Generation what Mortal Kombat is to this one. AMAZING games and great fighters. I have so many Soul Calibur 2 stories I could tell.

The point wasn't gameplay changes. It's the fact it's the same Franchise rather than trying new gameplay ideas with new characters. Remember in the SNES and NES days when Nintendo was putting out different characters? Yeah there was Starfi and he mostly stayed in Japan. Thankfully he was Japan only before Nintendo went all Region Locky. I will exempt Kid Icarus from this because that franchise was long dormant and brought back which I'd like to see Nintendo do more often. Bring old franchises back if they can't make new ones. Really the thing I'm most angry about is No F-Zero simply because Miyamoto doesn't think there is anything left to do with it. I'll say it again Nintendo gets my Money if there's a New F-Zero.

Also Miyamoto is getting up there in Age. While Haiyo Miazaki can still craft great films with Ghibli. Gaming is quite different and Miyamoto really needs to think about either teaching the craft to the next generation of developers or hand picking a successor and working with him.

Characters shouldn't be what matters...it's gameplay. Your arguemnt is now rendered invalid.

Also, there were more new SNES franchises because Nintendo didn't have many franchises to work with at that time.

By the way, Miyamoto has stated that he has a new IP in the works...

By the way, I want a new F-Zero aswell.

I'm tired of seeing Mario. Remember when a new Mario game was a big deal? Now it's OH ANOTHER Mario game. Zelda games are less frequent but how much more can you really do with Link? SO what does Miyamoto do? REMAKE WINDWAKER and just like with the Gamecube everyone wants the link in the Tech Demo...we get toon Link. I do hope this new Ip is something memorable though. I know Nintendo aren't really story tellers infact stupid Nintendo thinking is keeping the new Smash Brothers from having anything that even Resembles a Story. But I hope the New Ip tells some kind of story along with new/different gameplay experiences. The Last of Us set the bar REALLY REALLY REALLY High in terms of combining story with Gameplay if Nintendo wants to get in favor with older gamers like me again people who grew up with them but moved on to different brands after the SNES they should thinking about doing something that both plays well in the beloved Nintendo style, and combining it with an amazing story that maybe Nintendo isn't so well known for telling.

Or maybe we don't want story Driven Nintendo games...Look at Metroid Other M. Sorry But Samus don't need to answer to to man.

Even if the PS4/One fall on their faces I dont think your going to see the loss of support. This year's E# was a good roadmap of what the Third party developers plan to do for consoles. They're going to fall into two Catagories.

Next Gen only games to build up a fanbase or use better tech. -(The Division,Mirror's Edge,)
Cross Gen games that will most likely hit everything but Wii U.

Also besides Nintendo Oriented fansites or token articles were people talking about the Wii U? This time last year people didn't know what the WIi U and Nintendo did a bad job marketing it up to launch having events at E3, TGS, and than the october event but having tons of lulls. One/PS4 are known quantities by the general public and have been constantly in the news cycle being at every major Con or Show of the summer.

I don't think your gong to see them go the way of WIi U, because they're actually looking compelling at launch.

If you care about characters and such more than gameplay, then go watch a movie or read a book. Games are not for you. I'm not against great stories (Xenoblade is my favorite game), but there should also be great gameplay (which Xenoblade has).

Also, if the graphic matter tha much to you, then you aren't a real gamer. You should be watching movies or looking at paintings, not playing games.

I don't really care if Smash Bros. has a story. The gmes were great w/o them.

I think Third Parties have never liked Nintendo.. with that being said.. I think third parties get away with treating Nintendo like crap. because of general gamers attitudes.. for instance.. some posts I read on another site...

OP: Here is a list of third party games not coming to the Wii U.. Translation: Here is the 1,000th Racing, FPS, Survival horror game that I have played 999 times before but am hyped about.. because they have pretty graphics.. except maybe two games that are completely different.. the only reason I am going to touch some of these after the first month is because of Online Play.. However I will come back and say oh look another Mario and roll my eyes when Nintendo announces it and releases it..

Nintendo Fan: goes through looks at the list marks off the ones he is not interested in.. leaves a few on the list... and replies.. well these are the only ones I am interested in.. (Translation: I am a Nintendo Owner and gamer.. and vote with my wallet too.. and while I will not complain if Nintendo got all those games.. I am only interested in a few..

OP: And that is the reason why third parties skip Nintendo (Translation: I love it when third parties have the attitude that all their games need to sell.. otherwise it justifies them to drop the system completely and not support them.. but only if it is a Nintendo system and not my system preference because then I would be kicking and screaming...

Another Gamer: OOOOOO Burn.. (Translation : All hail third parties and their attitude of all must sell or Nintendo gets ignored.

Me: Well I for one refuse to buy a game that does not come with DLC content.. and any company refuses to actually put an effort into making something that looks better than PS3.. and plays good on the Wii U... (Translation: Go ahead third party B- - - hes and save me some money.. I don't care... if you can't give me a complete game.. that looks and plays good.. and that has the DLC all the other versions do I refuse to buy your stuff.. plain and simple..

Im addition no third party company like to break the mold for new tech.. for instance.. on The Wii U.. you have to utilize the GPU to do some main computing to bring out the full potential on the system.. third parties are not used to this.. on PS4 and XBOX One.. all you have to do is come up with a code that uses primarily the CPU.. they are used to this.. and so narrow and closed minded that they don't want to put forth the effort of actually figuring out the new tech.. on the Wii U.. (Gamepad is the same way for the most part)..

I am a wild and free Ninetails not a trainer.. get over it...

Few games draw me in with story but also play well. The Last of US is one, Shenmue is another. The Old school Ninja Gaiden games probably the first example of gameplay and story. I hear Red Dead Redemption is another prime example and Deus Ex Human Revolution. It's not Story over Gameplay it's story that plays along side gameplay, again The Last of US Being a perfect example of what I mean.

I don't play shmups or fighting games for story (besides the amazing story mode Mortal Kombat had) and I have a preference lately for 8 bit style games.
(So Shovel knight is on my radar) I play all sorts of games. But I lack that Nintendo magic right now. Only Nintendo games I have on Gamecube at the moment are F-Zero GX, SSB Meele and Chibi Robo.
