There's a huge problem with your explanation: The Wii U did not come after a console that bombed in the market (Dreamcast came after the Saturn).

The Wii might have started off successful, but it's latter years wasn't exactly full of rainbows and roses if you know what I mean.

But what would I do..? I would probably be a PC only player if that happened. Nintendo systems are usually the only ones I buy because of the amazing exclusives. If they dropped out I'd have no reason to spend money on consoles or handhelds. I'd probably save a load of cash.

Sonics just been Gears of Wared' if anything that makes it look immature. I really hate the words Hardcore, Mature and casual. Unless you're throwing down 'mature' as in M rated which I'm guessing you are or your just saying in general what you think is considering mature in the gaming world.

Many kids nowadays think 'hardcore' and mature(As in what 'they' think isn't immature) titles consist of Guns, tons of gooepy Blood, colorless dark brown & grey riddled color schemes, zombies, post apocalyptic seetings, you get the idea. It's quite foolish, immature and pretty damn ridiculous to even have this type of stupid perception to begin with.

Anyways! As for the topic question, I'd probably cave and get a Playstation or quit modern gaming all together and indulge even harder in my Love for old school horror movies and retro game collecting.

Because you know, if nintendo became a third party developer they would be forced to make "mature" games. That's what all third party developers do, after all.

I would devote my entire life to making them 1st party and to make them start manufacturing hardware again.

Man, i don't even play 'Mature'(Rating wise) titles anymore. Resident Evil is like the only franchise that does it for me, and I'd probably say Silent Hill if Team Silent ever made a comeback...

I like Bright colorful and surreal cartoony experiences. I tend to get bummed out playing anything with hyper realistic graphics and settings unless it's horror based 'and' from a Japanese dev. Ubisoft has me interested though with ZombiU! But that's most likely because of the gamepad motioncontrols and screen innovations, if it were a straight up analog-aiming wise First person experience I'd pass on it instantly.

I do play mature titles because I love GTA but other than that my mature titles have to be inventive and fun kind of like Bayonetta, or shadows of the damned currently I'm waiting for Lollipop Chainsaw it's out on June 12th can't wait.

I'd actually prefer if Nintendo was a third-party. Sony makes the better hardware anyway, so Nintendo on a Sony console is a win-win!

Eh... I feel gaming wouldn't be as fun. Nintendo is just a fun company, not just their games. And think about it, when SEGA went 3rd party, it's games suffered in the eyes of fans for quite a while.

Still, I wouldn't stop playing games, so....

If Nintendo goes 3rd party, I want them to make games exclusively for the PC. That way I can feel superior playing on the master race, looking down and pitying those who cling to their consoles.
But ONLY if Nintendo goes 3rd Party.

Sorry, but I don't really understand why you're asking "what would we do?"

What could we do? Bombard them with emails begging them to go back to console making and thus "go bankrupt"? Get angry and swear off Nintendo games forever? Buy a system to play Nintendo games on like normal? It's basically asking "will you be a silly fanboy?" or not.

Anyway, I don't really see the Wii U flying off the shelves at launch, but I don't see it failing abysmally either. Nintendo's ridiculous amounts of success with the Wii and DS has got to provide some kind of cushion for a rough start. I'm pretty sure SEGA didn't see the levels of success prior to the Dreamcast's failure that Nintendo has seen recently.
