Really fed up with my Wii U I sent it off to Nintendo and they did F all with it.

The Problem still exists (which is) it wont connect to the Wii Shopping Channel at all and also anything involving the internet is ridiculously slow.
I'm currently downloading Breath of Fire 2 which is 41mb its 33% through and its still got 34 mins left it says

If I try to format my Wii U to see if it sorts the problem out I lose all my save data, Nintendo Land I have everything, Pikmin 3 I have all the fruits etc

I really don't wanna have to complete all my games again coz Nintendo are so backwards with there policy's

What can I do?

Maybe this is the push I need to get a PlayStation 4

Sounds to me like it could be a router problem

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yea I remember a log time ago, near Wii Launch, my router worked with my Xbox and my DS but not my Wii. Could be the same problem. It turned out that router wasn't compatible with the Wii so I bought a new one and it worked great. Do you know what kind of router you have?

EDIT: Have you checked this http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/routers/index.jsp

You might want to try moving 2 or 3 feet away

did you try to restart the router? sometimes I need to restart it in order to let everything in my house to connect on it(but don't press the reset button unless you're confident you can configure it again!!!)

It's probably your router or your internet service. If Breath of Fire II is taking 34 minutes, your internet connection is piss poor.

Update your router and set it to factory settings. If thigs are still crappy, try port forwarding or DMZ.

EDIT: Or you could try USB to ethernet for a wired connection.

I would try another router and see if thats the problem. Also when you are downloading I know this might seem like a stupid question but is anyone else downloading or streaming at the same time?

Is "orange broadband" the name of your internet service?
Try to configure what you already have.

Are you using wireless? In that case, try wired and see if it makes a difference. If it's the other way, do the other way too!

it seems to me like a router problem or a positioning problem.... do you have, I don't know, a wireless phone stand near the router/WiiU? or anything else that's wireless close(r) to the router?

I agree with everyone — the issue with that is not the WiiU but your network at home. It could be that oddball router. Since I've never had to port forward my stuff — I can't say the same for that model. I would make sure you indeed power cycle it and maybe look into forwarding the ports. I put up some information on this on a couple of threads here on NintendoLife. And yeah, if you can, try using the USB-to-Ethernet adapter and wire it in. If hardwire fixes the issue and you want to go back wireless, try changing the wireless channel and possibly your SSID encryption. Just some thoughts.
