Do you guys think that there are games going to be like TTYD, TP, Four Swords and Metal Gear solid and so forth for the Wii U? I mean games that a couple of years after release goes for like 70 £?

If so, I might just buy a couple, keep them sealed or whatever, in a box somewhere.. I mean, why not. And; are there games like that for the Wii? Can't say that I have seen any Wii game other than Skyward Sword LE go for those kind of amounts..

With the increased popularity of collector's editions of games as well as the availability of these games digitally, I'd say there are very, very few standard games that will become rare and sought after in the future.

Plus this borders on scalping which is kinda bad so don't rely on that mm'kay?

Well, I just want to use the games that potentially rises in value to trade for older games, but yeah, get the point.

The Wonderful 101 and, to a lesser degree, Pikmin 3 are the two that strike me as the most obvious ones. Maybe Bayo 2, since there are fewer copies in the wild compared to the first game, but I don't know if interest will rise in the long run or not.

Project Zero 5 too, for obvious reasons.

if you wanna make money you can do a lot better than hoping a few video games will be worth a few pounds more in a few years...

That's the conclusion I've come to, too, apart from the rare exception.

I bought a 'Like New' copy of Skyward Sword SE (mint gold Wii Remote+ included) for just over £50 a month or two ago. I don't know how much that package released at, but I'd be surprised if it was ever available for much less than that, given the high price of Wii Remote+ generally, flash sales excepting.
In fact, ever since I decided I should start buying more Wii U games at release because they seemed to be getting so hard to come by, and therefore growing in price, they've virtually universally dropped in price.

The only game I can think of from the last 18 months that has risen in price is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. I didn't buy that when it was available for £20 as I was sure it would drop in price, but it's hard to find a new copy for much less than £25 nowadays.

Best bet for investment return was probably Devil's Third. Price dropped to just over £10 early on, but will presumably be fairly hard to come by in a few years.

But I don't suppose the digitising of game collections does much to help OP's cause.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

I know. That's why I work.

I just like to trade games for older games, like for SNES and so forth, and it would be sweet to do that with Wii U games
