Nintendo won't make the same mistake they did with the 3DS: There will be a Zelda or Mario on launch. That much is a virtual guarentee. Probably Mario since zelda takes so long to work on, then again, they did choose zelda to demo the Wii u and not mario, so who knows?...
They did demo with Mario. Remember, New Super Mario Bros Mii!!!
Hopefully a 3d style Mario Game i.e 64 or Galaxy, or failing that I'd settle for a New Mario Kart as a launch title.
There are a few other games that have been mentioned that I like the sound of such as Lego City Stories but in all honesty its not the type of game I would dash out to buy a new system just so I could play it. If Lego City Stories was the only decent launch title then I'd be happy to wait till some better games come out before picking up a Wii U
All the games that are being released almost half a year later on the U should be there.

And can you go a little faster?!
LEGO City Stores!!! Well, okay. I know LEGO games are a little kinda kiddie games, but they're still a whole lot of fun. Pikmin 3, no way! I hate Pikmin! Pikmin is horrible (Please don't get angry at me for saying this Pikmin fans)!
Currently Playing: Luigi's Mansion (GCN) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) Ice Climber (3DS VC) Wii Music (Wii) Destroy All Humans! (PS2) Destroy All Humans! 2 (PS2)
So because you don't like it Ninty should release it?

Pikmin 3 please. I doubt I'll have much money for new games after buying a new TV and a Wii U so I actually kind of hope they don't announce too much for launch because I hate having to wait for good games after they're already released.

And New Super Mario Bros Mii also had a demo that you can play unlike zelda They Might relese a port of the new Wii Zelda game onto wii U
Pikmin will be the game I'm getting at launch since development should be close to finished anyhow.
As for ports of 360 and PS3 games, not interested. If those games didn't make me want to get those two consoles, why would I bother with them on WiiU. Ghost Recon Online however I have a slight interest in.
Hmm..... While I'm not entirely sure what launch titles I could name because a lot of really good 1s have already been said, if I could name any flagship/franchise titles, only because this 1 was supposed to be a big flagship/launch title for the 3DS, I'd really have to say somewhere down the line Kid Icarus for WiiU IF Uprising for 3DS does really successful and achieves a supportive enough fanbase (And I really hope it does) that the series doesn't just get washed ashore this time around. Maybe even a new Metroid. And I say these 2 specifically because even though it'll be somewhat of a new era of game play for the WiiU, I'd love to see a control scheme closer to what Link's CrossBow Training introduced us to with the Wii remote and nunchuck with sorta the whole shooter thing in mind there. But these could also just as easily be applied to dual analogs as well, or maybe a combination kinda whereas the touchpad provides a map view and possible accommodating HUD.
Never thought Id say this but I want another WW2 shooter. Get Infinty Ward, the ace combat guys, and the WWII in HD guys into one room and go for it. Also hope the more campy gearbox brothers in arms game copes too.
WAT!

Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros. Mii would be enough for me at launch tbh. I won't be able to buy more than two games at launch anyway.
I personally hope not. If these are two of Nintendo's "big" launch titles then I will be changing my mind about buying the console at launch. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy New Super Mario Bros. Wii but I am not going to drop another $300.00 so I can play the next installment of that little series unless it has some new truly impressive features. As for Pikmin, well I have never been interested in that series. I want to be excited for this Nintendo. I want to see something unexpected like a StarTropics 3! I would be please with a launch F-Zero over another Mario Kart. I am sure they are going to have a big name launch and I would bet it would be of the Mario Galaxy variety.
The only "must" for me at launch is New Super Mario Bros. Mii. Then, we'd have the first time for Mario at a console launch since Nintendo 64 (and first side scroller Mario at launch since Super Mario World) to get the Wii U off to a great start! You know, like the 3DS didn't get off to after the first few days? We need Mario at launch this time, it's that simple. Would give the "hardcores" and "casuals" a reason to make a Wii U purchase. And those terms leave a bad taste in my mouth, but I just throw them out there because most everybody loves Mario, and he'd be a system seller. I think Nintendo knows they need more than just the system this time, after the 3DS debacle where there were no huge titles at launch.
Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

Even if all we got was something like New SMB Mii, which I thought was just a demo, it'd still have a better launch lineup than the 3DS........ but that's not saying much.

I think Pikmin 3 would easily be a perfect launch title. Sure its not the most well-known of Nintendo's franchises, but the first two games have become something of a cult classic, and would be a WHOLE LOT better than the 3DS's weak launch line-up that included the obscure and little-known Steel Diver.
