Topic: What does the Wii U mean to PS4 and Xbox One?

A lot of people are confident that the PS4 and One will have a better sales chart than the Wii U. Since the only reason why the Wii U is failing is because of the amount of games they have yet to make for the system and while the system sold well at first, its still struggling right now whereas the PS4 just sold 1 million in 1 day. I'm not sure about ONE but I'm very curious if it'll outsell both the consoles at the same time.

Some like me are very confident that the Wii U will outsell PS4 and ONE by a lance-a-lot! Some others claim that the system is just gonna go either second or third and will end up like gamecube with lack of 3rd party support.

Even though everyone knows this, I should mention that you get Nintendo TO PLAY Nintendo games. This is the most innovative system I've ever seen from Nintendo and while the devs are lazy to make good games on the Wii U, that doesn't change the fact that you buy Nintendo systems to play Nintendo games. I really think they have something going on here. The Idea of a touchscreen in a home console was never thought of before. Heck PS4 just copied the concept of the Wii U and only made it better.

Now graphically........ well all I've seen for graphics so far are just the different effects you can add for each system and while Wii U isn't visually as realistic as PS4 or ONE its still just fine to me atleast.

So far the lineup for PS4 is dull and so will ONE as well. What are your thoughts of the Wii U? Why do you think its not that competitive to the likes of PS4 and ONE?

Not to burst your bubbles, but Nintendo doesn't want to compete with the other big two. If Nintendo wanted to compete, it would have made more powerful console than PS4 or XBOX1.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Nintendo will do it's own thing and I'm happy with that.

It means less market share for Sony & Microsoft.

I read an article a while ago that made a lot of sense. Nintendo has been growing as a company since the NES and they've been growing, in business terms, at a fairly acceptable rate. In that time however the gaming industry has exploded especially in the last 10-15 years. So they've gone from being the dominant player with 80%+ of the market revenue to a company that has ~10% of the market revenue but all the while has continued to grow.

And if they stumble across a hit within that 10% that pushes them upto 30% or even 40% with the Wii U then cool. That's fantastic. If that happens then they'll be even more than just reasonably profitable. However they don't need to be to keep pushing their first party content

While its true that Nintendo wants to do its own thing, PS4 and ONE can potentially beat the Wii U sales leaving a lot of gamers losing hope on the Wii U.

I thought of this too that Nintendo doesn't care about competition and the fact that they care about their lovable fans just proves that they are least bothered about how Sony and Microsoft compete against them.

Still it leaves one wonder how Nintendo can boost the Wii U sales with PS4 and ONE out there.

Simply put, no. Sony and Microsoft are too busy butting each other's heads like ill-mannered billy goats then to bother with Nintendo.

Sony and MS are too busy goint to each other's throats to pay attention to Nintendo.

The Wii U is selling poorly because of how unappealing the Gamepad is and how poorly positioned it has been. The Gamepad was simply a big mistake from Nintendo.

However, the Wii U still has better games than PS4 or Xbone, but this could change in the future. Unfortunately, betting on the Gamepad may already have cost Wii U the race.

By pushing its unique offerings, Nintendo needs to be viewed as the #2 option. The console you purchase after you get a PS4,Xbox,or Gaming PC, this will become easier especially in light of the fact that this new set of consoles are becoming homogenized with PC's. Buying one GREATLY reduces the marginal utility in purchasing another because of their similar offerings, while Nintendo will have a unique line up.

Really thats what the U should stand for in Wii U , Unique.

Ironically im actually working on an article right now covering this.

Heck no, the wii u is a good main system, nintendo needs to keep pumping out well made exclusives, by first and third parties and work on getting third party companies to port their games to it

Its not though unless your a Nintendo fan, lets not kid ourselves here the Wii U doesnt exactly have lots of third party support upcoming in the AAA department. We are also on the cusp of a new divide in the video game industry, where we have the PS4,Xbox,and PC becoming homogenized into one group and we have new competitors who will fit into a different category with things like Steambox,OUYA,and Vita TV. This where i think the Wii U should become the champion of, increasing its exclusives as much as possible.

That's a load of crap. If that was the case Sony wouldn't of copy wii motion same with ms.

The issue with third party support? they rip parts of game give us know it won't sell since they don't give us the full game. than go "see it does not sell" That is the issue.

What does the Wii U mean to PS4 and Xbox One? Well, simple, it's more competition. They are all competing for the space next to your TV.
