I would not mind Disney making some Nintendo films:

1. Pixar makes Zelda film, Star Fox, and Wonderful 101 film
2. Lucas Films makes Metroid movie
3. Maybe a Kirby & Mario cartoon for younger audience
4. Marvel Entertainment makes a Kid Icarus animated series

Although I doubt Nintendo will take it this far.

Kirby already had its perfectly fine anime, Zelda would have problems with a film unless it was about something that happened in the ausence of the hero of time(Link doesn't talk and fans like it this way) Metroid would have as much of a bad impact as a Zelda film because "Other M"(A.K.A. the game where Samus talks and was badly received) and Kid Icarus doesn't fit the marvel style really well(in my opinion)

It means the release of various different types of media with the characters on it or in it. Cartoons, films, books, comics, toys, clothing, phone cases, etc.

Something like a Metroid lego set would be an example of this. Making a deal with another company in order to make a product based on a character/franchise. It can also be seen as way of marketing. DC, Marvel and Disney have done it for years.

I believe they mentioned about this earlier when they said that because Miyamoto was busy with other things like his new IP that he would let other parties like 2nd and 3rd parties develop the games and he would take more of a backseat to them but still be a main voice in the development if them. This is what I think he is talking about. This would allow Nintendo's IPs to come out faster and we wouldn't have to wait for the development of one IP to be over with before moving onto the next IP. I think it's a good move on Nintendos part.

Basically you lend out your characters for merchandise (or 3rd party made games) and collect royalties. In other words, money for nothing!

Won't see Nintendo IPs on other platforms. That much is guaranteed.

Maybe this means we will see other developers be given the chance at using the IPs, obviously they'd be Nintendo exclusives.

I think this will likely expand to non-gaming media: Pixar movies, cartoons, etc.

A Pixar Mario movie...

I'd be down for that. Heck, why not just kill all birds with one stone and have a Smash Bros. movie?

Don't worry he said the Nintendo IP's won't be popping up on any of their competitors consoles. So probably third party devs and other media groups using the characters. Example: Ubisoft making a Zelda spinoff or Pixar making a Super Mario World movie. No Metriod Dread on PS4 or X-Box1.

"PIXAR MAKING A (NINTENDO) MOVIE."

Or better yet, Studio Ghibli making a Zelda movie.

Won't happen, it would set such a high standard, other movie studios would sue because it would make all their current and future movies seem like poop.

Hopefully it means this will happen:

It's more toys and stuff like that. General exposure to the market. Clothes. Baby stuff. Sportswear. Etc.
The Lego Mario or Lego Pokemon are indeed also great ideas in the same sense.
