Personally, I'd want to have all non-Mario-themed content removed, but that's wishful thinking.

As for actual new content, I'd like to see Championship Mode return. Also, certain parts should be limited to certain characters to encourage experimentation (and maybe rule out some OP combinations). And maybe, just maybe, make quads a bit less useless (maybe through better jumping and landing behaviour).

But new content? Better not, the first DLC was already bad, who knows what junk they could whip up next. I'm not trusting Nintendo with DLC anymore.

Uh...seriously? Facepalm

No kidding. As far as DLC goes I believe that Mario Kart 8 is one of the best examples of DLC being done right. Not only is there a ton of quality content, but the DLC packs are a very reasonable price as well.

-They need to put an effort in making Battle Mode. MK8's battle mode was a joke. It may as well not even have been in the game.

-More customization options. I should be able to customize the color on my kart/bike to some extent.

-When Lakitu carries players back into the race, allow other players online to see that. Otherwise it just looks like they're disappearing and reappearing and it looks buggy.

-Get rid of lame character slots like Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach, Baby Rosalina, Baby Daisy and maybe add in Bowser Jr., Birdo, Mouser (why not?), Nabbit.

  • Make sure the Koopalings make the next cut.

I don't think fire hopping really helps you out much online. It's too chaotic to make much use of. It's more something to use in Time Trial.

@Neko_Rukiafan @Def_Halan Or maybe you're too lenient.
The tracks were terrible (except for Mute City), the characters useless, and the "new" parts had the same stats as certain other parts. So, nothing of value - especially not its asking price. I already went over this on the release article, so I won't repeat myself.

Seriously, why wasn't the Clown Kart in MK8? It's a wide known fact that Bowser and the Koopalings love that thing. Instead they gave us the stupid ship, which is cool but come on.

Speak for yourself. I HATE Mute City but love almost all the other DLC tracks, especially the Excite Bike course and Hyrule. I think Mario Kart 8 did a pretty good job with DLC aside from Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario.

And still you repeat yourself.

Based on my own current online experiences, I'd say that Excitebike Arena, Ice Ice Outpost, Dragon Driftway are all tracks (in addition to Mute City) that are still hugely popular among the online players' votes. SNES Rainbow Road wasn't popular at all when the DLC1 was released, but it's a track that is a very popular choice now. Hyrule Castle is not as popular as it was when the DLC1 was released though, but it's still voted a lot.

And why would the DLC characters be useless, when both Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario have unique stats? I've raced quite a lot with Cat Peach myself.

Actually Cat Peach has the same stats as Peach, same with Tanooki Mario having the same stats as Mario so they are essentially outfit swaps. That said, I don't have an issue with either because the DLC tracks more than make up for it.

The inclusion of arenas for Battle Mode has to be my main wish for the game. Even if arenas from previous versions were introduced, that would still be awesome! Battle Mode was one of my favourite game modes up until the latest non-existent type used model.

I agree mate,I think all the tracks were great additions but Mute City is probably my least favourite out of the new ones. The Excitebike track is probably my favourite.Funnily I was never a fan of Wario Goldmine on the Wii and it was one of only 2 tracks I always seemed to struggle to get a result on but this one is fantastic.

The thread has already turned into a knock-down, drag out brawl but just to clarify, Cat Peach does actually have different stats than regular Peach. She's lighter apparently. I have no idea about Tanooki Mario though but I agree that they're both lame characters that could have been used for Diddy Kong or Bowser Jr.

Turns out I was wrong about both! Consider the setup of [insert character], Flame Rider, Slick, Cloud Glider:

Mario, Tanooki Mario
Speed - 4.25, 4.25
Acceleration - 2.75, 3
Weight - 3.5, 3.25
Handling - 3.75, 3.75
Grip - 2.25, 2.25

Peach, Cat Peach
Speed - 3.75, 3.75
Acceleration - 3, 3.25
Weight - 3, 2.75
Handling - 4.25, 4.25
Grip - 2.5, 2.5

So in conclusion the DLC characters are 0.25 lighter and 0.25 more acceleration than their standard outfit counterparts.
