Ok. This might be asking for some trouble, but I wanted to see what some of you would like to see included in an update? Either in game software, firmware, or possibly hardware?
Mine would be that LAN adaptor that's coming out in Japan, Wii Speak added for voice chat if you have it(I know, pretty far out, but it could still be used), Wii keyboard support, PCM 7.1 in games, Spotpass used for a 24/7 connect feature, internet radio, SD card slot usable for Wii U, USB multiplier box(for more USB inputs. not sure if Wii U does that), multiple apps running with an added gamepad, an accessory that connects to the Wii U Gamepad, 3DS connectivity, and NFC compatible stuff.
Nintendo has probably already thought of all this stuff, but I'm sure they're working on finding a way to make most of this possible, and function in a reasonable manner. What do you think could add to the Wii U's appeal that is the realms of Nintendo's ability and will?
Didnt Nintendo discontinue the Wii Speak a few years ago?
Yes, but I still have one. Haha. Maybe later in the console's life they'll have more options like that in a new version that has more than just a room mic in it. They could possibly have some just laying around in stock, too, and make a bundle just for the heck of it. I highly doubt it myself, but it is a Nintendo product that is still technically compatible. They could probably copy and paste the codes to make it work as a regular mic.
Even the official Wii keybpard isn't compatible. That could change though. They just don't want to add more than one way to do things that might confuse the consumer.

Yeah they could but it seems a bit late in the Wii's life cycle to bring back a discontinued product. Besides doesn't the Wii U gamepad have a mic built into it?

The Wii U's life cycle is just starting, and it's still compatible. The Wii Speak is a larger range mic. It can pick up audio in a large room.
Maybe they'll make that Vitality Sensor a Wii U peripheral, since it didn't make it to Wii. I could use a bloodpressure app. Haha.

Still dont think they will bring back a discontinued product still weird things have happened. I guess I am just not a big fan of voice chat on video games so it makes no difference to me. Heck thats one reason I dont play Xbox games online. I get to many fouled mouth 12 years olds that just makes me want to turn my volume all the way down.

Both of those are useless peripherals. The Vitality Sensor was never released because even Nintendo knew it was useless and added nothing worthwhile to the experience.
Wii Speak on the other hand, was a poor excuse for a headset.
As for Wii U, I'd like to see Nintendo implement at least half of the social features its competitors have. The service is so bare, it's not a mystery why it's free.

It was probably useless because not that many people had them, and only 2 games I know of supported it. Xbox has the same technology in the Kinect for voice commands when it comes to Wii Speak.
The vitality sensor has tons of uses, too. They could redesign it into an armband for the Wii U. The main problem is support, not that they are usless.
EDIT:The Xbox lets you use the Kinect long range mic as a regular mic for even non Kinect games. They're just trying to make the player more immersed in the game. As long as they make it look like a necessary addition to you're console, it's worth it.
I'm okay with the hardware, but there's a few minor software updates I'd like to see. The first is a no-brainer and is kind of lame that they didn't already do this, but how about being able to insert channels when moving them a la the DSi? Swapping is going to get pretty tedious - I've already got two pages of channels - imagine trying to sort your stuff with five!
Mirroring external storage would also be nice to mitigate against hard drive failure for those of us doing serious downloading. This is something we could see when they go beyond the 2TB external limit, hopefully.
Slicker game/eShop integration: we should be able to buy our DLC from within the game and use it without quitting the game. Worked on the Wii just fine; can't see why it wouldn't here. If I have to have eShop credit for that to work, so be it.

Show me proof that Kinect uses the same technology as Wii Speak.

I can see more channels happening, but only if you have the current ones filled. Adding an in between channel from a different area is a good idea. Maybe we could get folders like the 3DS?
The eShop kinda already is in game from the home menu, because it doesn't quit your game. Buying in game is up to the developer. I don't know what you mean by mirroring, but I'll google it real quick...

Just google it. I used to have one, and I know it lets you use the Kinect mic for games that don't use Kinect motion sensing.
Like I said, they could easily implement the Vitality sensor for games like Wii Fit U. Your pulse could do even as little as change the background or music. Those are some uses, or make the enemy AI be more aggressive since they know yoir scared or being hostile.

I'm not Googling something I highly doubt is real.
That's not enough. Two useless options and two gameplay changing mechanics isn't going warrant a purchase when only one game utilizes it. And it'll most likely be a Nintendo minigame collection.
Plus, no one wants to put that thing on their finger for anymore than a minute.

Explain.. like what ? I dont understand how social features will improve my gaming experience
@Sean_Aaron
I looked it up, and that could be useful. It would have to be setup by the user though. I don't really think Nintendo wants to incorporate their server to make that happen. This could happen even easier if they made those Wi-fi SD cards usable in the Wii U to transfer small amounts of data to a different location and keep them updated simultaneously.

Sending photos, chat rooms so you and friends can chat while playing different games, viewing profiles and even listening to music.
Not to mention PlayStation 4's new social features, something that, I find Wii U won't be able to compete with.
