I don't think there'll be a new Nintendo console until maybe 5 or 6 years from now.
I think we will see another one by either holiday 2016 or holiday 2017......the only reason the 7th gen lasted as long as it did was because of the impact of the 2008 global recession.
I have to agree with this timeframe, I don't think Nintendo really wants this gen to last too long. Since the consoles are supposed to be "like brothers", I think they'll probably launch simultaneously or near simultaneously, so maybe it'll be 2017 that we see them.

Nintendo also releases about every 5 years so it would be possible. WiiU was released in 2012 so 2017 is quite a possible release date, the first we'd see from it would be around 2016 E3.
Everything can change, but I'm never changing who I am
The best thing would be to include a Pro Controller, and then have accessories for certain games if they need it. No need for useless gimmick functions for the GamePad or forced motion controls.

There actually is a reason to include those things. When those things are included, developers can confidently build games around them. When they are just sold separately, that is no longer the case, and the effective install base for who could play the games decreases. You saw this with Skyward Sword and Majora's Mask, which both required peripherals to function, because of this, the games are the lowest selling 3D Zelda games.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
You're right, but as we see there's a positive and negative side to including them.
I couldn't find why, but what was the peripheral for Majora's Mask?

The N64 expansion pack.
I don't see what the negative side to it is aside from cost. And TBH, cost doesn't HAVE to be a factor. Nintendo just screwed up tremendously with the Wii U Gamepad because it was so expensive.
The Wii Remote on the other hand was barely more expensive than a standard wireless controller. So something like that could easily work with a system that has powerful hardware for a still affordable cost.

Right, which is why it makes sense, it's about average for a console's lifespan. And that's also probably around the time they'd be finished working on all of the games they have planned for 3DS and Wii U, I think after this year, they probably have one more batch of games for both Wii U and 3DS moving on to 9th gen.
