That's it, we saw all Nintendo has left before they pull the plug on the Wii U. Stay tuned for March's direct to see another trailer of X and Bayonetta 2!
you think they won't release a zelda game on wii u? (a new one I mean)
Seems like a waste at this point. They might as well take their ideas for Zelda U and make another 3DS game. That is where the money is.
Probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. They have at least three years of Development in that game, it'd be a huge waste of time and money. Besides, Legend of Zelda is a system seller, not by itself but with Smash, Mario Kart, and other titles. Patience is a virtue my friend.
Good : Smash Bros., Kirby Triple Deluxe, X, Mario Kart 8, GBA on Wii U VC, and that new Donkey Kong Country : Tropical Freeze.
Bad : YOSHI
fixed for you

Pretty much what I expected. Was surprised there was no mention of the remaining Wii Sports Club games. Fully expected one to release in March, one in April and the full retail version to be released in early May.
Got a Mario Kart release date which was good. A little surprised at how late its releasing but at least we know when its coming.
X and Bayo2 look great.
Nothing new, which shouldn't be a shock. They said it was focused on spring games. The only spring games they have mentioned are DK and MK8.
IMO, this direct confirmed that Nintendo was expecting stronger 3rd party support for at least the first 1-2 years of the console's life.
....So at this point I'm guessing Nintendo lied about releasing 1st party games each month starting with Tropical Freeze...unless they mean games in general...then, ugh.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Meh thinking of selling the Wii U, luckily I have Wind Waker version which seems to be worth a few extra bucks. Will likely be a mistake but life's too short, rather have the money at the moment
I've got plenty to keep me busy- but for Nintendo's sake, I hope they get things rolling for sales. Just from reading comments on message boards and articles, it does seem like there's a fair number of people holding out on the Wii U for reasons like Mario Kart, Smash and Zelda.

I think the best combo for this gen will be
~PS4 or gaming PC for the home experience
~3DS XL for gaming on the go (IOS continues to lag IMO when compared to what Nintendo is offering, that didn't look like the case in 2011, but it has been the big N rocking it since 2013)

It will be a mistake, unless you can actually sell it for as much as you bought it. Regardless of Nintendo Directs, in 4 years Nintendo will have 10-20 must- have titles on Wii U.
I hope they are working on a Zelda U game. The last Zelda game I enjoyed was Skyward Sword. The top down 3DS Zelda, ALBW, was ok but haven't completed it.
Anyway, it was a normal direct, nothing new really, other than release dates and more footage of games we already know are coming. Honestly, I'm not excited about DK Tropical Freeze. I've played the first game, and I don't know, I didn't fee inspired to play it. If anything, I would love to see something like how DK 64 was.
Glad to see MH4 is coming in 2015! Saddened by no Star Fox, F-Zero, Metroid, or something entirely new.
With the lack of major 3rd party (which means not including indies), this just looks sad. The Wii U's fate, at least in terms of getting sales in any number, is hinging entirely on MK8 now, and that doesn't come out till the end of May.
Things are looking pretty dire here guys...

the irony of people complaining is that I'll probably be buying way more games than I ever have for the console in the next couple of months. There's not a lot but all of them look like games I really want to buy. Not even just "oh that might be kinda cool" like must-own, fantastic software, which is really the saving grace of this.
