Topic: What Could the Gamepad be Used For?

The Wii U has been out for over a year now, and thus far there's been very little use for it. Nintendo for whatever reason has not found good uses for it in their games. But that doesn't mean they don't exist, as games like Nintendo Land and Zombi U demonstrate. So the purpose of this thread is to brainstorm ideas for how to use the Gamepad. Please be specific, don't just say "NFC", describe a particular gameplay mechanic that could take advantage of NFC (and what franchises could use such a gameplay mechanic if applicable) like "scan objects with the Gamepad to use as powerups", or "scan characters with the Gamepad to help fight enemies".

Here's some ideas I have:

Franchise: Metroid (preferably something Prime style)
Idea: Visor control. The TV screen would always be set to the Combat Visor, but other visors can be selected on the Gamepad and then you can hold the Gamepad in front of the TV to interact with the environment (for instance, you would hold up the Gamepad to the TV screen to look for objects to scan with the Scan Visor, or to look for invisible objects with the X Ray Visor).

Franchise: Kirby (Mario could also probably do something like this, but it would be better suited for a Kirby game)
Idea: An inventory much like the one in Kirby Squeak Squad (where you could store items and copy abilities inside Kirby's stomach), but with a twist. You would use the Gamepad to aim and throw items at the screen, which not only could be used by Kirby, but can interact with the environment. For instance, if you have a Fire/Burning ability stored, you could throw it at grass/plants/ice/anything flammable and it would burn them, creating a new path for you take, or you could use the Bomb ability to launch a bomb at an otherwise unreachable switch.

Well, the GamePad could be used for pretty much what we've seen already with the existing Wii U games and the DS/3DS family before it.

What developers need to continue to experiment with is how to use the separate display. To clarify, the DS and 3DS had their second screens connected to their respective systems. The Wii U GamePad is free from the television set and can be used as such.

I don't have any ideas beyond what's been shown besides a few tweaks to existing games.

L. A. Noire could use the GamePad as Phelp's book which could prove to be handy during cases and interrogations as well as easing the navigation of the book.

Skyrim DESPERATELY needs an on-hand map that the GamePad could provide and make the quick access menus available there.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I promise to not derail threads. Request from theblackdragon
