Topic: What are you most interested in with the Wii U?

Power doesn't matter. Wii has great games that aren't available on any PC/console and nobody ate it alive.

Aside from Pikmin 3, I'm genuinely interested in seeing to see how developers will utilize the WiiU controller's various capabilities into new game experiences. The cynic in me knows that it'll probably devolve into mostly tacked-on gimmickry like what happened with motion controls this current generation, but maybe we'll end up with a handful of truly unique, great and still deep experiences.

At the very least, though, I want to have a full, mark-able map available on one screen at all-times in a Metroid game - something that I've wanted since the DS phat was revealed - by the end of the next-gen.

  • Nintendo titles in HD for the first time.
  • The interface.
  • The social features in games.
  • Online structure.
  • Uses of the GamePad.
  • Applications.
  • Multitasking.

There's lots of things that I'm very interested in hearing more about.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Then ask yourself why the Wii is now dead and the rest are not, why the others got full thrid party support and the Wii was left aside, because of the colour might be???

There was plenty of 3rd party support, but it was exclusive, not multiplatform. Also Nintendo relies mostly on its 1st party. The Wii now has a successor on the way.

The disclosure of its hardware specs and then to see how it really compares with current average gaming PCs. Overlooking that was my mistake with the Wii, to discover later that I just got a piece of underpowered white pastic. If Nintendo tries to repeat the same formula again (power doesnt count, only our name and the controller do), the other consoles + PC will eat the WiiU alive in 2 or 3 years or even less if Microsoft gets earlier than expected with Windows 8 unifying PC, mobile and home console gaming.

Yeah, just like PS360 ate Wii alive, and PSP devoured DS, and PSVita blew 3DS out of the water. You should check your facts: Nintendo has been triumphant despite having less power too many times before.

I could be wrong in this case, but I'm not sure the lack of power has as much to do with the lack of games in the second half of the Wii's lifespan as it does with it simply being a Nintendo home console.

Let's be honest, most Nintendo fans, and most hardcore gamers in general, buy Nintendo consoles solely to play Nintendo games; quality third-party software has been almost uniformly ignored by consumers for three consecutive generations now (not that there was really much to choose from in the N64's case). Third parties give them a chance at the beginning of each gen, they don't get the results they initially hoped for, they shift most of their resources back to competing consoles and so all people that still support the console can do is weather the months between releases from Nintendo itself. Lather, rinse, repeat.

They may have been triumphant commercially, but where they triumphant in the eyes of gamers?

^That's why it's good to own at least one home console in addition to Nintendo. Nintendo (home) consoles also have shorter life spans than others, about 5-6 years, while Playstations usually go for 10 years.

You are 100% correct, and there is nothing wrong about it.... if Wii U gets third party exclusives (although perhaps didn't sell well, but were gems) as good as the Wii did, more mutiplatform titles, and Nintendo first party titles, then it's gonna be helluva of a console.

New Nintendo games. That's the reason why I buy every new Nintendo console.

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

This happens because while everyone else flashes around their specs, Nintendo tries to make some GAMES. Also, they try to change enough in their existing franchises to give long time players a new experience.

So what do you call the things I'm playing on non-Nintendo consoles/handhelds.

LOOK!! I JUST BOUGHT A NEW NON-GAME!!

Do some people really think that the sequels on non-Nintendo consoles are just carbon-copies of one another?
Hello GameBoyAdvance games that were ports of SNES games.

Isn't that what Wii Sports was? With Wii Sports, the system showed (pretty much) what could be done with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Nintendo Land is built to do the same thing: Show you what the system can do and entice you to buy a full game that may or may not implement the control schemes on a larger scale.

Wii Sports and motion controls were revolutionary, whereas Nintendoland minigames not so much.

We haven't played the Nintendo Land games yet. We don't know how good or bad they are. Or how revolutionary.

Why are people using the wii like its not a one time occurance. Look at the sales too N64 and Gamecube. Also look at the ps3 to ps3. Thinking that the wii u will sell a lot because the wii did is foolish. The Wii U wp t touch the wii sells and I personally thinkxthe next xbox is going to outsell it.

I'm not saying other people don't make games, I'm saying that every time I hear someone bring up the PS3 in a gaming debate, it ALWAYS starts off with "PS3 is the most powerful system blah blah blah..." Whereas whenever Nintendo is brought up, it ALWAYS starts off with Metroid, Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, and other first party titles.

And as for the GBA-SNES ports; with two less buttons and the convenience of portability, I'd say that THAT IS a different experience. A way different experience than moving from Halo 3 to Halo Reach.

Okay. And how many of those first party titles that Nintendo ALWAYS starts off with were brought up at their E3 conference?
