Star Fox could become Nintendo's version of Mass Effect and Metroid could become Nintendo's version of Halo. They both are really great series that oughta have new entries for 3DS/Wii U. The fact that KIRBY is getting a 3DS game is kinda assuring me that we're getting a new Star Fox and/or Metroid game for 3DS and/or Wii U.

I think you've got it backwards. If anything, Metroid is Nintendo's Mass Effect, and Star Fox is their Halo...

I thought the same thing lol

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

If you guys liked it, then that's fine. But to me Assault is the worst.

Someone clearly doesn't remember Star Fox Adventures.

I liked StarFox Adventures. Aside from not being a traditional Starfox game, it was still good, IMO. That's why I'm saying Starfox Assault was a legit Starfox game in comparison to Adventures, because you actually shoot stuff.

It wasn't bad... I think people just expected something and got something different.

Yeah... like... I don't know, a STAR FOX GAME. Dinosaur Planet was alright on its own, but they shouldn't have called it something it's not.

That's an opinion

So is yours. Please elaborate on why you think Assault was, as you put it, the worst.

^ Read my previous comment. And, I mention before is my opinion.

@Norik
That's why I brought up Assault. That WAS a Starfox game. I thought the GCN Starfox games were better than either of the previous ones, honestly.

I liked Adventures, too. In fact, besides maybe Perfect Dark, I'd say it's the only Rare game I liked even a little. I dunno, though, it was still pretty flawed and I can see how a person still might not like it even if they knew it wasn't a Star Fox game. That little Dinosaur guy needed better Pathfinding, there's way too much collecting, and First-Person aiming sucked hard, just for a few examples.

Plus, expectations can play a big part in how much a person can enjoy something. People were expecting a Star Fox game. They got a Zelda clone with Star Fox shoehorned into it.

I actually really like Starfox Adventures. Honestly, I probably like it more than the other Starfox games. That being said, I'd still a new Starfox game follow the 64/Assault style, simply because the Adventures style just isn't right for Starfox. Also, the Zelda series is my favorite Nintendo franchise, so that's probably why I like Adventures so much.

Can't say Starfox Adventures was a Starfox game to begin with. If you know it's development history, it was planned as a different game with different characters. Starfox was thrown into the mix to make it more appealing.

It would be great if a 64/Assault game was made that focused on flight, tank and some on-foot or undewater missions. More flight though!

But don't give Fox a staff.

You know, ground missions could actually work if they played like Vanquish:

Yet another reason for Platinum to develop this game.

Would people be opposed to a giant game-changer (no pun intended) where Starfox was open world, or open universe I guess? You know, like giving the ability to travel to different sectors in the great fox and explore. All while having a deep narrative and lore about universe in which Starfox is set. Or would that be too much?

Bloom... Deal with it.

I would rather have a Metroid like that, StarFox is more about action and less about story, kinda why it has so many Sci-Fi Movie references in it lol.

I wouldn't mind it, but if Star Fox Command is any indication, the writing might be a bit too messy. I'd rather a Metroid was more like that. That does sound a bit too much like A Crack in Time, though.

Not sure that's the best road for a quasi-on-rails shooter.

Well there was StarFox adventures...

I'd rather have a side-scrolling Metroid game again, I disliked Other M a lot.

If the game was open world, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be on rails anymore. Starfox Command was just a bunch of all range battles layed out in a strategy type choice system. There were alot of good ideas in that game, but the real time battles aren't what I'm talking about.

There's so much they could do in a new entry... Even I don't want another Adventures type game, but I'm pretty sure that was a one time coincidence deal that no one ever planned on going back to, anyway.

Besides the Norm of what we want in the story mode,..... This may be long

I would like to see more put into the multiplayer..... So much as of an Online multiplayer... At the very least the ability to have 16 players in the same game..

Just think about the 4 player battle on N64... You could fly your plane, drive a tank, or be one of the Fox teammates and have a little rocket launcher.
Now make that the base for it.... You can spawn in any vehicle or jet if its available and ground vehicles can have a small variety you can pick from... Its 3rd person, you can play modes like every man for himself or a team battle that could be called something like "team fox vs team wolf" and you can customize your Team wolf/fox player... you can be a fox, a rabbit, pretty much all the animals associated with the good/bad guys.. customization's could include anything from colors, voice, clothing, weapons, laser colors, etc etc etc.

Even an option to enter a clan tag and an app on Wii U that updates you on what your clan is up to and allows you to party chat with them.
Most weapons in the game will be spawn place pickups including bombs, grenades and whatnot.

Also since its 3rd person it would be perfect for your guy to crouch/hide/get cover behind walls and shoot over them.

So we could see a deathmatch mode or an Objective mode and for those who want to just fly can play a DOGFIGHT mode with online players.

With something like that Nintendo could really open a can of DLC for the upcoming future and even its own Starfox app for the elitists of players.

As far as story goes I would be cool to have either a campaign or side story Co-op mode where you can play the 4 player Co-op choosing to be Fox, peppy, slippy or falco. Which can also be online capa
