This and that it is a arcade flight combat game just like Lylat Wars on the N64. No more Starfox Adventures, please. A game in which you spend 80% of your time out of the cockpit just isn't Starfox (I'll concede that it is a great adventure game, however).
That Retro are working on it. All that talk during e3 saying that they wanted to make the fur look right on Donkey Kong just got me thinking that they are practicing on that before they start working on Star Fox... Oh and a side mission to play as team Star Wolf

Honestly, I could see a Star Fox Assault type game being made. StarFox would have access to the Landmaster, Arwing, or various weapons on foot in various missions, and some would be available on each stage online. You'd be able to play as any character you want and customize them, or create an entirely new character for online.
Whenever I imagine a new Starfox, I think of a Gears of War, Halo hybrid, because it's 3rd person, but there's still vehicles and bigger weapons than Gears of War, like Halo.
If you played Starfox Assault, I think you understand what I mean by a Halo/Gears of War world with animals. Obviously it's not the same, but the game mechanics are very similar to bith those games in different areas.

I want something similar to Star Fox Assault where theu have some On-Rails levels with some Levels that mix On Foot, Ground Vehicles, and Air Vehicles. Bigger levels with online support, something that could challenge the Battlefield series but faster paced.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I liked Assault, but the levels seemed like a chore sometimes. There has to be more action, less filler (combo lasted too long and sometimes enemies were too far and away). Levels should have more distinctive parts, for example you start in an Arwing then land inside a base, go on foot and proceed to final part with the Landmaster. I don't want to go in and out of vehicles randomly.
Use Gamepad as a communicator and a map. Give out orders to wingmen (point where they should go, tell them where to drop items, perhaps give out orders to support such as artillery) and show hidden items/locations (a kind of sonar and close-distance xray).
Star Fox 64-2
Maybe without all-range, and adding on-foot sections like Kid Icarus, with better gunplay than in Star Fox Assault
Made by Platinum, Retro and Valve.
Make the game non-linear, instead of taking one path (compare to the SNES and N64 versions of Star Fox) hated that in Assault (to me worst Star Fox game) also, bring back the secret warps there were in N64 and SNES. Make Fox look how he was in Melee. And if it can fix the horrible on foot levels that was in Assault!
