What about you?
... What you just said pretty much sums up what Nintendo hopes happens for Christmas. A PS4 or Xbox One only user realizing that the Wii U has great exclusives and buying a Wii U.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Hmm, I'm going to snag a few amiibo and get smash, captain toad, nes remix and a new camera. That is about it because I have some really expensive purchases on the way for the next 6 months. So I have to budget/work extra shifts.

Nothing for me but that's because I just buy what I want as long as it fits in the budget. Why wait for Christmas if you don't have to. On the accessories front, the Wii U pro controller is just awesome. Amiibos to me are just nice to have, nothing is screaming must get yet.

Anyone know of any must have accessories for Wii U? And are Amiibos really necessary?
The Pro Controller, long-life battery for the Gamepad, external HD, LAN adapter.
Since you own a Wii, you can use the Wiimotes when necessary.
amiibos aren't necessary. They are toys that can provide some fun in the games, but the idea is that they shouldn't be required.
Definitely about external HD if you're even considering digital unless you only care about Virtual Console and a few indie eshop games in which the 32GB model should be fine. As for amiibo, arguably the Link one is necessary as it seems to be the only way to own the Spinner weapon in Hyrule Warriors.

I use digital on my ps4 but for Wii U I'll go with disc. I like having Nintendo games physically. I already get enough indie games on ps4 lol which I never play.

Please add me as I need more friends.
I have bought/been given 30 or so games for the Wii/Wii U since getting my Wii U last week. Plus controllers and accessories so I've been pretty good to myself. I hardly ever spend money on myself but I've had a wretched year health wise and Boyfriend and I agreed it was ok.
However it's left me not really needing anything for Christmas I have a few games on pre-order SSB4 and Captain Toad being the pick of the bunch along with Amiibos. I may get some DS games for Christmas as I have a stay in hospital planned and Kirby would be welcome company.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and happy holidays especially those who have had a rough year and may next year be all the better for it.
