Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Resident Evil Revelations are both good games on 3DS, but they're both better on Wii U.

And if you only own a Wii U, a game being a port from another platform is entirely irrelevant, no?

Most of them aren't even dumbed down. Just late. Which is, again, irrelevant if you only own a Wii U. For some games, the best version available is on the Wii U, such as Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Rayman Legends, Batman: Arkham City, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The only "dumbed down" games on Wii U that I'm aware of are things like Call of Duty, which have a small multiplayer community and lack of DLC. But if you're into games like that with a massive online community, you probably have an Xbox or PS anyway.

Apparently, Assassin's Creed III is also glitchy as hell, but I haven't noticed.

Anyway, I think the problem with 3rd party games being ignored on Wii U isn't really people who only own a Wii U, it's more people that also own a Xbox 360 or PS3 and already bought those multiplats months ago (years, in the case of Deus Ex). I mean, look at Watch Dogs. It's being sent out to die against Smash. Everybody on Earth who was interested in that game has already played it on one of four other platforms. It's going to sell like ass, and that isn't necessarily the fault of someone who only has a Wii U. In fact, people who only own a Wii U may be the only people who actually buy it.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

I hate people who complain about "no games on Wii U" and overlook gems like W101, Pikmin 3, Scram Kitty, Armillo, Shovel Knight, etc. They want games but won't do research or object to everything and don't buy it.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

That is because when most people make that statement they are saying that they want more games that they like to play. Not more games in general. Many gamers (I want to say most but i know its an unfair generalization) only play a few genres and thus a few series. I personally have been delighted with many of the recent multiplat delays because I play so many types of games so I always have some new game I'm buying every month.

Also the Smash demo just came out. Seriously. Smash is on the way, Bayonetta plus all the stuff I have already. I still need to get through The Wonderful 101 and Shovel Knight isn't even out on the Wii U/3DS here yet. So maybe other people are "desperate for games" but I'm not in the slightest.

That said, as a firm believer in free markets, if developers want to produce crap and it sells? Then that's a problem for the people who buy that crap not the system. Because where do you draw the line? Before you know it some dude in a suit is standing in the way of a game like the Stanley Parable. Fair enough if the content is clearly fraudulent and fair enough if Nintendo wants to differentiate their store. But as a consumer? Open the floodgates if anything and if it becomes hard to navigate through the crap improve the store so it's not hard.
