I recently notice this about Nintendo. Whatever when a fan game or a fanmade remake of a Nintendo game or franchise is in development or released, Nintendo usually make them cancel the project. But, Nintendo oddly releases something similar to the fan made games. (For example, remember that fan made Mario game on the Wii U browser which you can created your own levels? Nintendo recently created Mario Maker. Which is the SAME thing. Same goes to SM64 HD, which it was cancelled in favor of SM64 on Wii U virtual console. And Majora Mask.) Do you know what this means? We actually have the ability to make Nintendo make games that we WANT. Not games like Animal Crossing Ambiio party or Federation Force. We just need to create a fan made game about some Nintendo franchise. And soon enough, Nintendo will ask us to cancel the project for some official game in the future.
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

We've always had a huge influence over what games Nintendo makes. Our power is buying the games and products we like and not buying the ones we don't, and deciding overall whether or not we are going to give Nintendo any of our money.
So you're saying that I just need to create a full 3D open world Pokemon game, and then they'll create one? Maybe I should start simple and do a new 2D Metroid game instead.
Dude, you're missing something.
Those weren't cancelled so Nintendo could make their own version.
They were cancelled because they would compete with Nintendo's own product that had been in development for some time.
It's that simple.
