Doubt it. After all, similar things happened to Mario Party Island Tour for months, yet that game resurfaced with a ton of new info in recent weeks. It's just not ready for a new trailer or anything yet.
It makes sense to reveal games early in development to let early adopters know there's loads of stuff coming; it also makes sense not to talk a lot about stuff until it's closer to launch or to delay games intentionally to avoid over-crowding the market (see Tropical Freeze). This isn't an off-beat game that's likely to die a death in development like Project Hammer.
Lots of hard NES games! Bionic Commando, Battletoads! yeah... most had to do with memorization and repetition. They did require twitch skills and precise timing no matter how well your brain functioned.
We'll see about Yoshi, I hope Nintendo drops some games, they've got to be working towards E3.... gotta get my Metroid, F-Zero, Star Tropics fix...
live the dream.

3DS: soon to be Tekshow
The developers haven't announced any new projects, so there's no reason to believe it's been canned yet.
I didn't know until I read that link that Good-Feel did the giant battles in M&L Dream Team. That's one of the best showcases of 3DS' non-3D capabilities I've seen yet.
Nintendo is making the effort to market Wi iU via Wii Party U and Sorts Club and Wii Fit U - and of course SM3DW this holiday. There really hasn't been much said about MK8 either. And DKC:TR only gets talked about b/c it was due out already before being delayed. Im expecting the next Nintendo Direct to be all about Wii U 2014: SSB, MK8, Bayonetta 2, Yoshi's Yarn Planet and a least 1 new game. And no, I didn tforget about X, JRPGs just take years to develop and translate, so it won't see a western release until 2015.
Someday we'll find it

I will agree that they are holding back news on 2014 games until later. However, there's no way in knowing how long X has been in development. When it was shown, it seemed to have been fairly in development for a while. There is still a possibility of a western release next year.
