I haven't heard another peep from this game since it was first announced. To be honest, I'd rather have Yoshi's Yarn for the Wii U then Yoshi's Island for the 3DS. So has there been anymore news on this game that I've just missed?

I don't think so, it was just really early in development when they announced it. As we transition more towards 2014 I'd imagine we'll hear more about it.

That's a silly thing to think. You know, back in the day, we used to rarely get news on video games like this all the time. Yes, sometimes they did get trashed, but most of them didn't. It was very common to only get a few screenshots or a short video and no news for several months. You young'ens are so spoiled nowadays.

Totally agree with you on that on. I remember seeing a game in a Nintendo Power when I was a kid and then not hearing anything about it for months then all of a sudden out of the blue BAM. Of course due to the internet now and how easy its to access now with phones, tablets etc. You dont have to wait to get news like we did when the only news outlet for video games was a monthly magazine. Still due to that factor this generation is extreme impatient.

The Internet pretty much killed of peoples ability to be patient about these sort of things just look at the SSB Miiverse community.
They just don't need to advertise it now. Judging by footage, it was really early in development. Plus, there's more hype for other games right now that they'd be advertising and showing off instead. I'm sure when the WWHD/3DW/MK8 debri has cleared that we'll see more of it. They just don't have much of a reason to show it off and they likely don't have much to show right now anyway, which is probably why we haven't seen anything about it for a while.
I also think that we haven't seen nor heard anything about this is because it probably hasn't changed much. The amount of people working on it is probably low since there are other projects Nintendo is working on at the time like 3D World, Smash Brothers and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Once those projects are done they will probably shift people to Yoshi's Yarn.

@Gioku it's not so much the term, it's just I know the people are gonna go off on some tangent about how they didn't have it as easy as I do, and that I have everything easy, and that they were practically abused... yeah, yeah, Grandpa I'm sure you walked uphill both ways to school in the snow. I can't help but laugh at how people feel the need to paint themselves as victims and tell us how easy we have it.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Every generation does this its like a cycle eventually in 10/20 years you and me will probably be saying similar things to teens playing on the latest consoles (or the equivalent) like "remember when games were hard like Super Mario 3D World when you had to die 8 times before super guide activated now its just 2".
@SkywardLink98: Except no one is painting themselves as victims we are just stating fact. Kids today have no patients because of the internet cause everything is now, now, now. Need a map to get through a level in Super Mario World? No problem just head over to the internet and look it right up. While we didn't have that luxury. That's all.

I do think sometimes people greatly exaggerate the difficulty of old games like Super Mario Bros 3 for example.

I don't know if I've ever heard anyone say that SMB3 was a hard game, except for maybe World 8. But you do also have to consider the fact that back in the NES days, people weren't used to games like that. A lot of people had moved on to the NES from Atari and so it was a very different experience. Now, if you want to talk about hard NES games, there are plenty. Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Ghosts 'n' Goblins, just to name a few. But now we're getting very off topic.
I am, however, looking forward to some new Yoshi's Yarn footage. Hopefully it will turn up early next year. Perhaps we'll get a Wii U focused Nintendo Direct in January so all the new Wii U owners can have some more games to look forward to.

A lot of Nes games I would classify as cheap (In relation to enemy placement) then hard.
Anyway back on topic I think Yarn Yoshi will be shown off early next year.
