If Sony announced 'move/pointer' support for DOOM I'd be drooling. Same could be said for Starwars Battlefront, and maybe that 3rd person Dinosaur hunting game.lol whatever the hell it was called. But alas' they're limited to a clunky, archaic, unimersive and dated twin stick wiggling control schemes

The only motion control controller that works for a real, full game was the wii mote, because it also had buttons. And, whatever, go play PC if you're that fussed. I and the rest of the people who don't have an aneurysm when aiming the bow in 3D Zeldas on the gamecube will be just fine playing with a controller.

I also see lots of praise for Sony when most of their games won't be out for years, there is also praising of Last Guardian even though it doesn't look like what they promised and the gameplay looks like dull escorte missions. So I am going to take a break, might still give impressions on some of the games I have played but people need to calm down and open their eyes, don't just focus on the 1 presentation, look at Nintendo's entire E3 content.

No, what you're seeing is people here finally not trying to justify all of Nintendo's faults and decisions. They're finally speaking up about the BS they have had to put up with recently, and I'm glad this whole shebang is being called out. What you're seeing is a forum of Nintendo fans, rather than a forum of Nintendo fanboys.

To be honest, I don't think anyone asked for Animal Crossing amiibo Party or a co-op Metroid on the 3DS. It seems to me that Nintendo did the exact opposite of what people wanted.

About Sony, it's fine if you don't like their games, but you can't pretend that they didn't have a great show this year. I have no doubt that The Last Guardian will be a great game, just like SotC and Ico. Horizon looked amazing as well, probably my favourite game of E3 this year. On the other hand, I can't get excited for a KickStarter announcement and a CGI trailer of FF7 either. But still, it was a good show.

People asked for more Amiibo Usage, and got Animal Party. People have been asking for a new Metroid and multiplayer Metroid, we got Federation Force.

I completely understand that I didn't like the Sony Press Conference but even trying to look at it from another perspective there wasn't much that would sell me on a PS4. What about Last Guardian looks good? Having to interact with clunky AI?

I'm not sure those are the same people. Personally, I don't care about amiibo, seeing how they are integrated more and more in each game is a little off putting to me. That's why I haven't bought MP10, I'm not going to buy a game with an entire mode locked behind amiibo. Enough for my personal rant, but I don't think it's fair to say ''People wanted a new Animal Crossing and Metroid, they got one, therefore they should be happy''. Because even though the games bear the same names, they are nothing like the games most people wished for.

I guess you haven't played any of the other games from Team Ico, so it's difficult for me to explain. Anyway, I know that I'm looking forward to it. Even if The Last Guardian ends up only half as good as SotC, it would still end up being an amazing game.

That conforms with my hypothesis that the event was rushed

Nintendo deserves to be criticized for its errors and mistakes, but even then some reactions are totally uncalled for. For example, after E3 people began screaming Nintendo's end and doom was on the horizon. The idea that a company like Nintendo is doomed for a poor E3 conference seems like a great exaggeration. Although most reactions are justified, some are a plain exaggeration and can be seen a bit toxic.

I really don't think anyone really ever gave Nintendo a pass, as most people usually call Nintendo out immediately when they screw up (at least from what I've seen).

The gamepad is such a 'shnazzy' controller that in all likelihood it will never be utilized by another Nintendo console in the future.

Oh god one of these "Nintendo doomed guys!!11!" thread, not like we haven't already had hundreds of these threads. One lackluster E3 that didn't have many Wii U games doesn't mean the Wii U is dead. There is many Wii U games coming such as Devil Third, Mighty No. 9, Yoshi Wolly World, Rodea the Sky Warrior, Fatal Frame, and ect. There will be plenty of games to play through it it life span. Saying the Wii U is dead is like saying Subway will be dead soon. As @Ralizah said, stop being drama queens already.

It's more of how impressive the Sony E3 was and how lack luster Nintendos was that is starting to make it hard for some people, including myself, to justify keeping the wii u over the ps4. Before I was happy to have the wii u over the ps4 as I wasn't very impressed with what games they had but after seeing star wars battlefront, Doom 4, Horizon, unraveled( a Nintendo like game), Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 7, uncharted 4, it's becoming harder to not want the ps4 when there seems to be a future shortage of new wii u games.

@Defhalan Did you ever play Ico? I think you need to understand what the studio behind The Last Guardian has already made, in order to understand The Last Guardian. They make art that are emotional masterpieces.

I haven't played Ico, but I did put maybe 8 hours into Shadow of the Colossus. From my perspective Last Guardian looked really boring. I can understand others may not agree but I would like to know what people saw in it. What about what was shown at E3 this year made that game look amazing?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.

Shadow of the Colossus is interesting, but is in no way fun to play. Like the Witcher 3, but on PS2, as more of an art piece, and with even worse mechanics.

The Last Guardian with next gen polished mechanics could be really good. I just wish it was a gryphon, not a weird rat creature (ie: the hawk fight in Shadow of the Colossus.)

Iwata's investor meeting will be interesting. What will he say about the Direct. What margin will he be re-elected by?

It will be interesting to see.

I don't think the Digital Event will really affect how the shareholders view Iwata. What the shareholders wanted from Nintendo was to start developing on smartphones, ditch the Wii U and announce new hardware. So far they've done two of those things (which made the massive spike in stock value earlier this year that is still higher than it's been in three years prior), and they seem to be fulfilling the third one after this year. Iwata is going to ride on those developments going into the shareholders meeting.

It's the emotion in the other games they've made. It should be in The Last Guradian. More specifically, Ico. That game could also be described as a long escort mission. It doesn't feel like one though, it doesn't a have of the issues that escort missions have, and this is coming from someone who hates escort missions with a passion. It's not something that can be easily conveyed through a trailer, and doesn't make for a jaw-dropping gameplay demo.

But people are acting as if that demo was jaw-dropping. Ico may not have had the problems of an escort game, but TLG looked to have those issues. I wasn't impressed by it and don't understand the excitement. It probably would have been better just to show a CG trailer of that since the gameplay looks so bad.

Nintendo had one underwhelming presentation and some of you peeps are crying and throwing a tantrum? Grow up.

No more new games for the Wii U? Were your eyes close during the presentation or you just have to hate for no reason? There were 3 new games premiered and a handful of what's coming up this year. Just because those games aren't the one you wanted, doesn't mean they're not new games. Some of you guys are unbelievable. The Wii U is still well and alive, stop being a whiny baby.

This. Nintendo's E3 was disappointing, yes but why are people pretending that the Wii U doesn't have any games left?!

We still got:

Super Mario Maker
Yoshi's WW
Devil's Third
Rodea the Sky Soldier
Fatal Frame V
Star Fox Zero
Zelda(still confirmed for Wii U I'm not going to jump to conclusions and assume it'll be NX too)
SMT X Fire Emblem
Project Robot
Project Guard(This one developed by Platinum so this should be amazing btw)
Mario Tennis
Animal Crossing

  • a bunch of indies

Nintendo should've had a better E3 and shown off more games but people can't pretend that the Wii U doesn't have solid future. It's weird because I don't remember people freaking out last year when Sony had a underwhelming E3. I'm still ticked that Sony left the Vita in the dust, again.

+10 taking statements out of context
