Fantastic voice acting or none at all. There can be no middle ground. That is my stance.
EDIT: Actually, voice acting might be coming to Zelda rather soon. Zelda U is Aonuma's last Zelda, and the new director might want to have voice acting.
When was this said?
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yes,I think its time for voice acting. Everybody can talk except Link.Zelda's fanbase is large and powerful, you don't wanna make them mad. I would be happy for voice acting in the game,or other Nintendo games.
I'm trying to find a source, but the problem I'm running into is that all the news I can find is over E3 2014, when this was said last year(?). This has been something that has stuck in my mind ever since I saw it. Just give me time to look for it.
EDIT: After a ten minute search, all I could find was a statement from Aonuma back in 2008 saying that he will stop working on Zelda as soon as he makes one that surpasses Ocarina of Time. I'll continue looking in the future, but for the time being, what I said is going to be on the back burner. Sorry for the misinformation, but in my defense, I would never lie about something like this, unless I was bamboozled....

I am not a fan of the Hyrule Warriors reading voice thing, I think it is terrible. If that is the type of Voice Acting Nintendo thinks works for Zelda, then no. It sounds like someone reading a child's book that they have never read before. Hyrule Warriors only makes me wish for Voice Acting because then that person reading the story wouldn't be needed...

I would be only ok with voice acting in Zelda if it's ENTIRELY the HIGHEST possible quality. Anyone with any respect for the series should immediately reject anything that in any way sounds worse than say...Mass Effect. But because this will be localized from Japanese, let's go with anime dubs and say this needs to be the FMA of video game dubs.
I'm not against voice acting, but I would prefer they give each character, except Link, a gibberish voice like they gave Midna and Fi.
I'm with this. It's the only way I can see voice acting in a Zelda game, if they gave it a fictional language. Of course still with the subtitles
The hylian language was created and a glossary of hylian letters was revealed by nintendo. all that's left is speech. only 2 hylian words exist: Madi = Master Madas = Link
we know these words because whenever fi says the word link in skyward sword, Fi says madas and when fi says master link, the sound madi is made. SOURCE: http://zeldawiki.org/Link#Madas
"I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT!"
Light Yagami, Death Note
"Ah, the Breakfast Club soundtrack! I can't wait 'til I'm old enough to feel ways about stuff!"
Phillip J. Fry, Futurama
The Chu Chus in Wind Waker are more hilarious in my opinion.

The voice acting and cut scenes I feel are the main reason Other M got so much hate.
The same will happen if they put voice acting in Zelda.
There is no way they can pull off voice acting and please everyone and while people often complain about the lack of it in recent zeldas I think the safer route would be to stick to what they have done in the past.
Why do people keep thinking the voice acting is the reason why Other M isn't very good? It's not the acting that's bad. That is completely fine compared to everything else. It's the writing and story that's poor.
You can have a great script, but without good voice actors and/or voice directing, it will make the story seem poor. You also can have great actors and/or voice directing, but with a poor script, it will make the actors seem not very good.
Well yeah, it is a whole package not just the voice acting. When you are doing a cinematic game it is very different. I thought Other M was fine, the problem for many people was that whole story/acting/directing (I think visually people did not complain) did not match up with what people had built up in there heads from filling in all that stuff with their imaginations.

That's the only thing I dislike about the game thus so far. That voice would not have been one of my top picks for a narrator. It reminds me of when I was small and my babysitter would read the same story to me every single time and she never made an effort to ever make it interesting. She just read it and that was it. That's what this voice sounds like to me.

Yea, if future Zelda games get Voice Acting I hope it is better than this

There are quality voice actors that Nintendo could hire for Zelda Wii U. It will be very interesting to see if Zelda Wii U will even have voice acting.
