The question has been thrown around since the release of Hyrule Warriors and I want to know your input on the subject. Would you be okay with voice acting in the next zelda cannon? Personally I would not want voice acting in a Zelda game, but I want to her your answers and reasons.
I honestly think it's about time Zelda gets voice actors. However I see that they would have to get some no name voice actor to voice Zelda and Link. I dont want them to get some big budget Hollywood actor to voice them like Kiefer Sutherland for Solid Snake for example. That would just be wrong.

Voice acting can go south pretty quick. Some folk complain its not in japanese, some that its in english, others whine that its not in every language in the world and again other complain that it might be bad.
If you leave it out, you just have the whiners that complain about it not being there in the first place and nothing else.
I couldnt care less about the fact that the characters themself talk or not. Zelda dialog isnt Shakespeare you know...

I'm for either, but it's so easy for a company to ruin something by mediocre voice acting. People that are for it are most likely thinking that it would automatically be done by amazing voice actors and don't consider it being really crappy. That could easily ruin a Zelda game with annoying characters yapping for a long adventure. Basically it's easier to mess up voice acting than it is to perfect it.
I think they'd do a good job but I would also like to see the cast of Lego City give it a try because the last few Zeldas have been quite funny. I think the peoples and races of Hyrule should all have distinct accents from around the world.

Fantastic voice acting or none at all. There can be no middle ground. That is my stance.
EDIT: Actually, voice acting might be coming to Zelda rather soon. Zelda U is Aonuma's last Zelda, and the new director might want to have voice acting.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
I actually like the gibberish that you hear from companions and some NPCs. It has a certain charm to it. Link's grunts have always been enough to convey his character too.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
